ABSTRACT
Waste disposal system is a crucial sector in human civilization. The world
suffers due to irresponsible disposal of trash. This affects the environment
and also the eco-system. Many diseases and death of living beings especially
animals is caused to the negligence in waste disposal. The Earth is not a
garbage can to litter everywhere. Pollution is a serious issue that goes
alarming every now and then. Pollution increases subsequently with increase
in population. Garbage has to be strictly discarded to avoid pollution. Here
on emphasizing land pollution, “AI based Trash Collector” can clean up all
the trash that are thrown using Raspberry Pi
PROJECT DEFINITION
In this project, the goal is disposal of waste in a trash bin without any manual
effort. The whole method is divided into three parts: 1) Object detection 2)
Trash Identification 3) Trash collection. A mobile system that roams and
collects trash has been worked on where a robot is used to clean the area
around a dustbin using combination of Mobile NETS and single shot detectors
for fast, efficient deep learning-based object detection.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The main important objectives in this project are:
1) The primary aim is to introduce a way in which garbage could be
collected and disposed efficiently.
2) To analyze the problem of garbage disposal at a school, restaurant,
office, hotel, production plant or any other
suitable location
3) To design and develop a system for solving the problem.
4) To test and maintain the implemented system for the long run and
efficiency.
2
APPLICATION
The main applications for the project are:
1. Allows the user to dispose waste very simply and effectively
2. Can be used by government organizations, schools, and colleges to
dispose of waste and trash materials in their campus and public areas like
parks.
3. Can be used by environmentally aware people who care about recycling
4. Is easily accessible for use in any capacity to effectively dispose of waste
materials.

CHALLENGES FACED:
o Time constraints
o Equipment is costlier.
o CODE FOR THE PROGRAM
o Unavailability of higher models of Raspberry Pi boards.
CONCLUSION:
In conclusion, the team members chose this project gladly with
persistence to complete it and to learn from it, and to help people
and society. The team members have used their knowledge from
different courses, especially in Design, Coding, and Manufacturing
Methods. The team applied the skills of researching effectively,
applied time management skills in tough times and critical periods
of COVID-19. When it comes to the difficulties, the team was able
to find a suitable design for the Waste collector and was able to find
a good workshop, and team members got used to online meetings.
