My Busy Day
Last Monday was a busy day for me. I spent my time to do a lot of activities from college to my home.
First, in the morning, I did my presentation assignment with my partner, she was Nurhidayat. It took 3 hours.
And then we went to the campus for joining lecture. But, the lecture said that our presentation would be started
next week. It made us disappointed. The class was finished at 12.30.
After that, I had to go home because my grandmother was in abad condition. She was hospitalized. So, it
was a must for me to back home at that time. When I got there, there were so many members of my family.
There were about 10 people. My aunt, my niece, my uncle, and some of my cousin. We all hoped that our
grandmother would get letter soon. Those activities made my day busy.

A little boy was given a little bull-calf by his father. His father died, and his mother remarried.
His stepfather was cruel to him and threatened to kill the calf. An old man advised the boy to run away, and he
did. He begged for some cheese, which he would have shared, but the calf refused. It told the boy it would go
into the wild and kill all the creatures it finds, except a dragon, which will kill it. It told the boy to climb a tree,
and once it was dead, to skin it and take its bladder, which would make anything it struck drop dead with it, he
was to kill the dragon.
It happened as the calf said. Monkeys climbed the tree after him, and the boy squeezed the cheese,
claiming it was flint; when they saw the whey, they retreated.the boy set out to find the dragon and kill it.
He found a princess who had been staked out for the dragon. He killed it, though it bit off his forefinger.
He said he must leave her, but first he cut out the dragon’s tongue and the princess told her father, who asked
for him to come, and many gentlemen cut off their forefingers and brought diamond rings and the tongues of all
kinds of beasts, but none were the dragon’s tongue or the princess’ring.
The boy came, but the king turned him away as a beggar, though the princess knew he was like the
boy.somewhat later, he came back, better dressed, and the princess insisted on speaking with him. He showed
the ring and the tongue and married the princess. And they live happily ever after.

The carpenter said,” I think I understand the situation. I will be able to do a job that will please you.”
The elder brother had to go to town for supplies, so he helped the carpenter get the material ready and then he
was off for the day. The carpenter worker hard all that day measuring. Sawinng,nailing.
At sunset when the elder brother returned, the carpenter had just finished his job. The elder brothers’s
eyes opened wide his jaw dropped. It was not what he had even of on imagined. It was a bridge stretching from
one side of the creek to the other! A fine piece of work, beatiful handrails. To his surprise, his younger brother
acroos the creek was coming to meet him with a big smile and arms wide open to hug him.

Once upon a time, in eastern part of Java Island, there was a kingdom ruled by a king.
The king’s name was prabu Menak Prakoso. One day, Prabu Menak and his soldiers invaded the kingdom
Of klungkung in Bali. The king of klungkung was killed, yet his daughter, Made Surati, and his son,
Agung Bagus Mantra, were able to escape and hide in the jungle.
Prabu Menak Prakoso had son named Raden Banterang. He was such a handsome young man.
One day, raden Banterang went to the jungle for hunting. It was in the jungle that Raden Banterang
Met Made Surati. She was then taken to Blambangan to be his wife. Raden Banterang and Made Surati
Enjoyed a happy life in the palace.
When Raden Banterang was hunting one day, Made Surati was surprised by the arrival of a dirty
Beggar asking for her pity. The princess was surprised to find that the beggar was her order brother,
Agung Bagus Mantra. She promptly squatted and embraced her brother’s legs. However, her great respect
of her brother was not well accepted. Instead, AgungBagus Matra asked his sister to kill Raden Banterang
but such a request was rejected. He was very angry with her and came up with a sly idea to slander her.
Slowly but surely, Agung Bagus Mantra succeeded in convincing Raden Banterang that his wife had been
Involved in a scandal with another man. Asking for compassion, Made Surati tried to tell the truth and denied
Her husband’s accusation. Hearing his wife explanation, the king became angrier and angrier.
As a proof of her sacred love, she asked her husband to kill her. As her last request, she asked her husband
To throw her dead body into the river. She said that if the water in the river smelled terrible, it meant that
She had ever been sinful. But if it smelled fragrant, it meant that she was innocent.
Raden Banterang who was unable to control his emotions soon stabbed his keris ( dagger ) into
His wife’s chest. She died instantly. The dead body of Made Surati was quickly thrown into the dirty river.
Raden Banterang was shocked to see the river suddely become clean and as clear as glass with a fragrant smell
Raden Banterang screamed crazily and regretted his deed. He walked unsteadily and fell into river screaming
,” Banyu ... Wangi ... Banyuwangi!” This means “ fragrant water” Banyuwangi was born from the proof of
noble and sacred love. From then on, the place is called Banyuwangi.
