Synchronous Online Learning
Synchronous learning means that the instructor and the students in the
course engage with the course content and each other at the same time, but
from different locations. The instructor interacts with students in real time by
means of tools such as Google Meet, FB Messenger, ZOOM, and MS TEAM to
livestream audio, video, and presentations, to hold live classes or meetings, to
engage in live conversations, and to simultaneously edit documents, and more.
Asynchronous Online Learning
Asynchronous learning means that the instructor and the students in the
course all engage with the course content at different times (and from different
locations). The instructor provides students with a sequence of units which the
students move through as their schedules permit. Each unit might make use of
assigned readings or uploaded media, online quizzes, discussion boards, and
more. The instructor guides the students, provides them with feedback, and
assesses them as needed.
Modular learning
Modular Distance Learning is implemented for those living in rural areas
or provinces where internet connection is only available for a few. The usage of
Modules created by teachers with various tasks and learning activities based
on fundamental learning abilities is known as modular distance learning.
The LRMS of the SDO Abra developed its localized Self-Learning
Modules, Worksheet, and Learning Activity Sheet that was utilized during the
pandemic and suspensions of classes due to heatwaves. Expert evaluated
these learning materials before it was used.
Two-way Radio Class
This kind of class was implemented it the far-flung municipalities of the
Province of Abra. A two-way radio is used in this kind of class because it
doesn’t require an internet connection or cellphone signal.
Two-way radio A two-way radio is a radio transceiver (a radio that can
both transmit and receive radio waves), which is used for bidirectional person-
to-person voice communication with other users with similar radios, in contrast
to a broadcast receiver, which only receives transmissions.
Hybrid Class
A hybrid class combines traditional face-to-face learning in the
classroom with online learning that students complete outside of the
classroom. The work that students complete online complements the
information that is covered in the classroom. View our courses offered by

DepEd Order No. 044, s. 2022 amends the initial calendar to give private
schools the option to implement five days of in-person classes, full distance
learning, or a blended learning modality, defined as three days of in-person
classes and two days of distance learning or four days in person and one day of
distance learning.
II. Strategies and innovations for effectively combining online and
offline learning activities
1. Integration of Online-Merge-Offline into the Entire Learning Process through
an LMS (Learning Management System)
The adoption of a learning management system (LMS) brings together
goals, resources, assignments, and assessments on one platform, which can
better support different stages of learning at all times.
2. Mindful Designs for Online Education
Learners can study at their own pace by pausing or fast-forwarding
learning materials or determine by themselves when to attend class and
how to finish an assignment. It’s important to note how passive learning
turns to proactive engagement.
3. Ensure Online Access to All the In-Person Classes
Can we join in-person class via online channels anytime we want?
Teachers and students can all join from wherever at their convenience.
For instance, the instructor can teach a classroom of kids from home, or
students have the choice to partly attend class online.
4. Support Learning Module with Multiple Resources
Teachers are equipped with a cloud-based platform of educational
materials. Teachers leverage digital resources such as text, images, videos,
datasets, and virtual experiments to support students in developing deep
learning in authentic contexts.
5. Use Proper Tools to Develop Cognitive and Collaborative Learning
Integrating technology tools into the classroom is a scenario-and phase-
based process. Both teachers and students need to know how to use
technology and develop cognitive and collaborative learning with
technology.
6. Adopt Different Teaching Models
Many schools have already carried out many AI+OMO classroom
innovative practices, here are some examples:
a. One-to-Many Model: one teacher interacts with students from different
offline classrooms.
b. Two-Teacher Model: one lecturing teacher delivers the lecture online
via live-streaming, and one assistant teacher will be in present in the class.
c. Team Teaching: teachers are instructing students at the same time.
7. Create Data-based Personalized Learning
Teachers could fall into the past trap when they keep recording
students’ processes and fail to provide effective feedback even if they have
acquired a certain level of data. Utilize data collection, analysis, and
feedback through an online learning platform; and give assessment,
examination, and evaluation supported by technology.

IV. Integration of Technology to the Process of Teaching and Learning
Process to Improve Reading Performance
Integration of technology in education simply refers to the use of
technology to enhance the student learning experience. Utilizing different
types of technology in the classroom, including a virtual classroom, creates
learners who are actively engaged with learning objectives. The
implementation of technology also creates pathways for differentiated
instruction to meet the unique needs of students as individual learners within a
broader classroom climate.
HOW TO INTEGRATE TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM
1. Power Points and Games
-present stories, use PowerPoint instead of charts
2. Internet Homework Assignments
3. Classroom Tablets
Some Schools have their tablet and they can utilize it for the
implementation of reading program.

V. Online and Offline Assessment Method
As the world moves online, countless new opportunities can be found to
assess students in ways that are both convenient and efficient. Online tools
for formative assessments are a great way to collect and apply assessment
data.
9 Ways to Assess Student Learning Online
1. Online Quizzes
utilization of different online platforms like: google forms, kahoot,
Mentimeter, Quizzez and Flexiquiz
2. Online Polls
FB Messenger can be utilize to conduct online polls
3. Game-type Activities
Game-type activities turn a series of test questions into a game. For
example, a trivia game might ask learners to answer a certain number of
questions within a period of time and award points based on the number of
correct answers.

4. Forum Post
Asking students to contribute to a forum post is an excellent way to
gauge student understanding, pique their interest, and support their
learning. In this activity, students are given a critical thinking question
based on a lesson or a reading and are asked to reflect on both. Their
answers are posted to a forum, and their peers are given the chance to
respond.
Start by creating an online message board exclusively for your class in
your LMS or some external platform like ActiveBoard, Facebook page of the
school, and the schools’ LMS
Offline Assessment
Offline exam delivery, or offline assessment, is the method by which
organizations can run computer-based examinations in remote areas where
there is not a reliable internet connection available, instead of relying on a
paper-based process that is inflexible and hard to administer.

Performance assessments require students to apply their skills and
learning in real-world situations. Some of its examples are art projects, oral
presentations, and science experiments.
VI. Providing Feedback to Students in a Flexible Learning
The purpose of feedback in the assessment and learning process is to
improve a student's performance - not put a damper on it. It is essential that
the process of providing feedback is a positive, or at least neutral, learning
experience for the student.
Ways to Provide Effective Feedback:
1. Feedback should be educative in nature.
2. Feedback should be given in a timely manner.
3. Be sensitive to the individual needs of the student.
4. Feedback should reference a skill or specific knowledge.
5. Give feedback to keep students ‘on target’ for achievement.
6. Host a one-on-one conference.
7. Feedback can be given verbally, non-verbally, or in written form.
8. Use a notebook to keep track of student progress.
9. Return tests, papers, or comment cards
10.Give genuine praise.
VII. Roles of Teachers in Flexible Learning
Flexible learning is a method of learning where students are given
freedom in how, what, when and where they learn.
Flexible learning refers to the ability to customize one’s pace, place and
mode of learning. With pace, for example, students may take accelerated
programs or engage in part-time learning to ensure they have time to work on
the side. Learning can take place in a variety of settings, including in the
classroom, at home via the Internet, while commuting or as part of a work-
study program.
The role of the Flexible Learning Teacher is principally to offer support to
young people who need it, be it in the short term or the long term. There are 5
roles which are:
1. Consultation with colleagues, external agencies, parents, etc
2. Planning learning and teaching to aid overcoming learning barriers
3. Identification and assessment of barriers to learning
4. Partnership working with specialist services
5. Continuing professional development and sharing expertise
VIII. Classroom Management in Blended Learning
Blended learning combines in-person teaching and interaction with
supplemental online educational elements.
Blended learning refers to the merging of in-class teaching with internet-
based instruction and interaction. Blended learning is beneficial to both
student and educator, with research showing improvements in student
participation and engagement, student-teacher relationship building, flexibility
in learning and overall improvement in the quality of learning.
How to Manage Classroom in Blended Learning:
1. Device Checklists
Create a checklist for students to follow when using devices, ensuring
they have the necessary apps and resources for each lesson. You might post
this in a shared space in a classroom with a reminder to complete certain
tasks, like plugging in a device to charge it at the end of the day.
2. Clear Digital Guidelines
Establish clear norms for digital device usage in the classroom, including
when and how devices should be used during lessons.
3. Regular Device Audits
Set a calendar reminder (perhaps every other month) to periodically
check devices for functionality. This could include updating software and apps
to ensure everything is running smoothly.
4. Tech Support System
Set up a system for students to report technical issues and provide basic
troubleshooting training to help resolve common problems
5. Organized Digital Resources
Keep digital resources well-organized in a central online location, such
as a classroom website or learning management system.
6. Collaboration Tools
Utilize online collaboration tools to facilitate group work and discussion,
even when students are physically together but posting in online spaces.
7. Digital Literacy Focus
Include digital literacy skills in your content area instruction to help
students learn how to use technology responsibly and effectively

Use digital platforms for feedback, allowing students to ask questions
and express concerns about the blended learning process.
9. Personalized Learning Paths
Use digital tools to create personalized learning paths, catering to each
student’s individual needs and pace
IX. Culture of Learner Autonomy in a Flexible Environment within the
family setting
Learner autonomy is a learner's ability to be self-motivated and
responsible for their own learning.
Flexible learning environments address how physical space is used, how
students are grouped during learning and how time is used throughout
teaching.
Parents can contribute to their children’s learning by cultivating a
positive relationship with their children, providing advice and guidance,
organizing time, recording, and encouraging participation (motivation),
teaching with the aim of supporting children. Parents can also supervise the
completion of tasks and seek help when needed, time management,
identifying students' needs, communication, and access to useful resources.

X. Socio-Emotional Learning Needs in Convertible Classroom
Social emotional learning (SEL) is a methodology that helps students of all ages
to better comprehend their emotions, to feel those emotions fully, and demonstrate
empathy for others. These learned behaviors are then used to help students make
positive, responsible decisions; create frameworks to achieve their goals, and build
positive relationships with others
SEL is beneficial to both children and adults, increasing self-awareness,
academic achievement, and positive behaviors both in and out of the classroom.
From an academic standpoint, students who participated in SEL programs saw an 11
percentile increase in their overall grades and better attendance. On a more
individual level, the skills learned within an SEL program have been shown to help
students better cope with emotional stress, solve problems, and avoid peer pressure
to engage in harmful activities.
