Write one example for each of the Cognitive Distortion listed in the presentation.

One sentence
per category is enough, but it's fine to give context to the thought.

1. All-or-nothing Thinking: "If I don’t get to be a CPA lawyer, my whole career plan is over."
2. Overgeneralizing: "I messed up our debate; I probably won’t become a good lawyer in the
future."
3. Mental Filter: "Even though the teacher praised me for being intelligent, I still can’t stop
thinking about me being in the top 2."
4. Disqualifying the Positive: "They complimented me, but they were probably just trying to be
nice."
5. Jumping to Conclusions: "The teacher didn’t smile at me when I met her along the corridor,
so they must not like me."
6. Magnification: "I stuttered with one word while reading at the church; I probably will be
taken off as lector. ”
7. Emotional Reasoning: "I feel like I’m not good at this subject, so I must be really bad at it."
8. Should/Must Statements: "I must always do everything perfectly."
