PART 1 GENERAL
1.2 REFERENCES
1.3 SUBMITTALS
B. Shop drawings: Prepare and submit shop drawings to scale 1:10 detailing:
1. Front view of the lighting control panels with layout of DALI dimmable
modules, scene set control module, local scene commander control station
and probable scene maker programmer.
2. Front and side sectional elevations to show layout of bus bars and support
points, cable termination points and available cabling space.
A. The equipment shall comply with all relevant proposed and current, European
and inter -national safety and technical standards for electrical and electronic
dimming system. These will include strict compliance with electro magnetic
conduction (EMC) standards EN 55015 emission standard and EN 61547:1996
immunity standard and safety standard EN 60950-1:2006.
B. The equipment shall be fabricated in accordance with all procedures for quality
assurance to BS5750 Part 2 and ISO 9002.
1.6 QUALIFICATIONS
C. The supplier should have qualified engineering team for installation, testing and
commissioning and technical support to the Client for maintenance and trouble
shooting.
1.11 WARRANTY
A. Submit written guarantee signed by the contractor or the manufacturer for the
period of 2 years from the date of substantial completion. The guarantee shall
cover the repair and replacement of defective materials and workmanship as
directed by the engineer except where any specific warranty from a supplier or
manufacturer extends for a longer time.
Furnish extra materials described below that match products installed and that
are packaged with protective covering for storage and identified with labels
describing contents.
A. Provide DALI dimmable module equal to 2% of total installed for each type.
B. Provide 8 channel addressable relay modules equal to 2% of total installed for
each type.
C. Provide keypads equal to 2% of total installed for each type.
D. Provide lighting routers equal to 2% of total installed.
E. Provide Multi sensors equal to 2% of total installed for each type
F. Provide infra-red transmitter equal to 2% of total
1.13 MAINTENANCE SERVICE
2.1 GENERAL
A. Provide centralized lighting control system for the areas as mentioned in the
drawing and in DB schedule.
The Lighting control system shall be interfaced with third party systems like
building management system, as required.
D. All luminaries shall be suitable for dimming control and will be equipped with
DALI control gear or high frequency dimmable electronic ballast with variable
output analogue control HF 0 -10V DC interface.
E. The system shall comprise Din rail mounted addressable relay modules
having 8 channel, 16A per channel mounted and wired in a rack/panel
Assembly, 4- or 8- channel dimmer modules as required, Lighting Router,
local scene commander control stations with built-in infrared receiver, Hand
Held Infra-red transmitter, Multi sensors…etc.
G. The dimming system shall be guaranteed for a period of not less than 24
months from the date of commissioning.
L. Output level override facility shall be provided in the dimmer module and relay
module to allow illumination for cleaning and maintenance of the area in case
of any defect in the lighting control system.
M. All the dimming & switching operation of lighting circuits mentioned in the load
schedule shall be considered for programming with the same type of
dimming push button control panel.
N. All the dimming areas as mentioned in the drawing shall be provided with 4
scenes and Off Preset push button control scene commander panels with
inbuilt infra red receiver and Raise/Lower facility. For switching areas, On/Off
push button control station shall be provided.
P. All the push button control panels should be provided with Brushed stainless
steel fascia plate with a led tell back in the push buttons, in coordination with
other switch/sockets finishes and as approved by I.D
1. The factory assembled lighting control panels shall have 240 Volt 50/60 Hz
single or 415V three-phase operation. Operational limits shall be not less than
200 to 260 Volts with auto-tracking of frequency from 45 to 65 Hz.
2. Individual channel ratings shall be 10 Amps RMS with convection cooling for
an ambient temperature of upto 40 degC.
3. Lighting control panels shall be wall mounting, self-contained, multiple-channel
units. Enclosure rating shall be IP20. Cable access shall be via gland plates
having knockouts.
4. Incoming power distribution and protection and individual channel load
terminals shall be pre-wired. For ease of connection the load terminals shall be
A. Universal Dimmer Module for LEDs: Eight channel transistor dimmer module,
for leading or trailing edge dimming of the majority of load types including
Incandescent and dimmable LED’s. The module shall have 8 channels that can
be individually selected as leading or trailing edge, rated at 6A each. The
module has a DALI, S-DIM and DMX interface for integration.

Din rail mounted 4-channel DALI to 0/1-10 V / DSI® / PWM converter, suitable
for controlling electronic ballasts and LED drivers, fitted with high inrush relays
rated at 16 A per channel, which handle short-lived high peak currents during
switch on of loads. The outputs can be configured independent of, or paired
with relay channels.

Din rail mounted Dali Switching Control Module, suitable for controlling
ballasts/ drivers when device addressing is not required. This reduces
commissioning and maintenance cost, as failed devices can be simply
replaced. The flexible control inputs support multiple protocols, by routing an
input address/ group to its corresponding subnet output

There shall be a dedicated Lighting Control Panel (LCP) for every DB. The LCP
shall house the system devices and the related control equipment. This is to
ensure the power wiring between the DB’s and the control modules inside the
LCPs is kept to a minimum.
2. The key features of the relay unit shall be with LED Display and control
buttons, High –inrush type and to have Override input for external
triggers.
3. The LCPs shall be surface mounted enclosures together with built-in
DIN-rails for easy installation of relay units with terminal connectors for
load connections.
4. Provide relay modules with the following technical specification:

B. The Lighting Router shall have the complete working database of the system.
C. The Lighting router shall directly accept a DMX I/P to offer interactive control
of the Dimmer channels and multiple routers connect via Ethernet, which also
provides general TCP/IP access and system programming, monitoring and
scheduling using the lighting system software.
E. A single Phase power supply shall be provided for the Lighting router and for
Ethernet switch.
G. The system shall be programmed using Laptop computer through the Lighting
Routers
B. The control keypad shall feature a low-profile construction and shall comprise
of two elements, a mounting base with wiring access and a brushed stainless-
steel control fascia plate without the fixing screws on the facia plate.
C. For dimming application, provide lighting keypads with 4 scene and off raise
and lower scene modifiers facility as required. Push buttons shall have
variable back illumination tell back according to light level selected.
D. For switching application provide On/Off scene lighting keypads with built-in
I.R.
E. All the scene commander lighting keypads shall be provided with in built infra-
red receiver.
The Multi sensor is a compact unit containing the necessary sensors to provide
energy saving functions. It has a constant light sensor, a passive infra-red
detector (PIR) and an infra- red receiver for the Infrared Remote. The Multi
sensor is designed to push fit into a ceiling or luminaire housing.

C. The system programming access can be from any Ethernet connection point
in the lighting control system. The Lighting system can be a part of an existing
Ethernet installation.
G. The Lap top computer shall be plugged in to the Lighting router or Ethernet
switch or Programming socket for programming the system.
H. The programmer shall provide the capability to pre-set all lighting scene
requirements such as light levels, fade times, Scenes naming and circuit
numbering with the aid of the graphical presentation of programming entries,
database setting, pop up menus, job windows and help screens at all stages.
I. The Software shall have the facility of monitoring the status of the circuits that
are connected to the system, which facilitates to find out if the lamps are

present/fused. The system software should have the feature to monitor the
dimmer module temperature.
A. Provide hand held remote control Transmitter unit for remote operation as
mentioned in the BOQ.
A. The I.R. Receiver shall be in built in the Lighting Keypads, Multi sensors as
well as in the colour touch panels.
Provide volt free contact input module to interface with Fire alarm system /
Audio Visual system / Building Management system.
2.15 CABLE
Data cable and Ethernet cable shall be provided for the system as
recommended by the manufacturer.
PART 3 - EXECUTIONS
3.1 INSTALLATION
B. Install input circuits in separate cables and raceways from output circuits.
D. Leave 0.5m excess cable at each termination in rack suitable coiled and tucked
away.
F. Install connections to all luminaries in a tidy manner and no wiring shall be left
coiled up.
I. Location and equipment main incoming power supply, etc., shall be coordinated
with Electrical Contractor.
