1.This question paper contains 38 questions.
2. This Question Paper is divided into 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
3. In Section A, Questions no. 1 - 18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and

Students of a school thought of planting trees in and around the school to reduce air
pollution. It was decided that the number of trees, that each section of each class will plant,
will be the same as the class, in which they are studying, e.g., a section of class I will plant 1
tree, a section of class II will plant 2 trees and so on till class XII. There are three sections of
each class.

1. Find total number of trees planted by primary 1 to 5 class students? (1)

33 Read the following text carefully and answer the questions that follow: [4]
Statue of a Pineapple: The Big Pineapple is a heritage - listed tourist attraction at Nambour
Connection Road, Woombye, Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. It was designed
by Peddle Thorp and Harvey, Paul Luff, and Gary Smallcombe and Associates. It is also
known as Sunshine Plantation. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 6 March
2009.

Kavita last year visited Nambour and wanted to find the height of a statue of a pineapple.
She measured the pineapple’s shadow and her own shadow. Her height is 156 cm and casts a
shadow of 39 cm. The length of shadow of pineapple is 4 m.

34 Read the following text carefully and answer the questions that follow: [4]
A hot air balloon is rising vertically from a point A on the ground which is at distance of
100m from a car parked at a point P on the ground. Amar, who is riding the balloon, observes
that it took him 15 seconds to reach a point B which he estimated to be equal to the horizontal
distance of his starting point from the car parked at P.

1. Find the angle of depression from the balloon at a point B to the car at point P. (1)

2. Find the speed of the balloon? (1)

3. After certain time Amar observes that the angle of depression is 60𝑜 .Find the vertical
distance travelled by the balloon during this time. (2)

Find the total time taken by the balloon to reach the point C from ground? (2)

Section E

35 Meena went to a bank to withdraw₹ 2000. She asked the cashier to give her ₹ 50 and ₹ 100 [5]
notes only. Meena got 25 notes in all. Find how many notes of₹ 50 and ₹ 100 she
received.Solve the pair of the linear equation obtained by the elimination method.
