1. 1H Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (1H NRM): Concepts of chemical shift,
spin-spin coupling, coupling constant, shielding and deshielding effects.
2. Mass Spectroscopy: Introduction, different techniques of ionization (CI, EI & FABMS)
isotopic abundance, molecular on fragmentation, base peaks etc, Nitrogen rule.
3. Chromatographic methods, principles and applications of: Gas-chromatography
including GC-MS; High performance liquid chromatography; Electrophoresis (gel and
capillary) with an emphasis on specific examples of biological assay methods by HPTLC.
