ABSTRACT

The "Fast Voting Game System" is a state-of-the-art electronic

system designed for determining the quickest responder in
games and competitions. In scenarios involving multiple
contestants, manually judging the fastest response can lead
to errors, especially when responses occur almost
simultaneously. This project automates the process, ensuring
accuracy and fairness. The system employs a priority encoder
circuit to detect the first button pressed, locks the result to
avoid further interference, and provides both audio and
visual outputs to announce the winner.
The seven-segment display indicates the winning contestant’s
number, while a buzzer serves as an auditory signal. Designed
with simplicity and reliability in mind, this system is suitable
for a wide range of applications, including quiz competitions,
talent shows, and reaction-time training exercises. By
combining electronics with game mechanics, the project
exemplifies how technology can simplify and enhance
decision-making in competitive environments.

Introduction

The "Fast Voting Game System" addresses the need for

accurate, automated decision-making in competitive
scenarios. Traditionally, human observers judge which
contestant responds the fastest, often leading to disputes and
inaccuracies. This project eliminates these challenges by
using a priority encoder circuit to detect and lock the first
button press among multiple contestants.
The system operates by monitoring all input buttons
simultaneously. The first signal received is encoded, latched,
and displayed on a seven-segment display, which indicates
the contestant number. A buzzer provides auditory feedback,
ensuring an immediate and clear announcement of the
winner.
This system is particularly beneficial in settings such as quiz
competitions, talent shows, and games where determining
the fastest response is critical. Its compact design,
affordability, and reliability make it a practical solution for
small-scale applications, while its principles can be extended
to larger, more complex systems.

Hardware Requirred
5
The "Fast Voting Game System" uses the following
components, each serving a specific role in ensuring the
system's functionality:
1. Seven-Segment Display
o Displays the number of the button pressed first.
o Offers clear visibility for participants and judges.
2. Push Buttons
o Serve as inputs for contestants.
o Designed to respond with minimal delay.
3. Resistors
o Limit current flow to prevent damage to
components.
o Ensure stable operation of LEDs and ICs.
4. Capacitors
o Filter noise and stabilize power supply.
o Ensure consistent signal transmission.
5. Transistors
o Act as switches to drive the buzzer and other
outputs.
6. Buzzer
o Provides an audible signal indicating the winner.
o Enhances user experience with instant feedback.
6
7. LEDs
o Indicate system readiness or button activation.
8. Diodes
o Prevent reverse current flow, protecting the circuit.
9. Transformer/Adapter
o Converts AC to DC power for the circuit.
10. Integrated Circuits (ICs)
o Perform priority encoding and logic operations.
11. IC Sockets
o Ensure secure and removable placement of ICs.
12. Cables and Connectors
o Facilitate connections between components.
13. Breadboard/PCB
o Provide a platform for assembling and connecting
the components.

Working Principle

8
The "Fast Voting Game System" operates based on the
following principles:
1. Monitoring Inputs
o All contestant buttons are monitored
simultaneously.
o Each button is connected to the input pins of the
priority encoder IC.
2. Detecting the Fastest Response
o The priority encoder determines the first signal
received.
o This signal is encoded into a binary format.
3. Latching the Output
o The system locks the first input using a latch circuit,
ensuring subsequent signals do not overwrite the
result.
4. Audio-Visual Feedback
o The binary output drives the seven-segment
display, indicating the winner’s number.
o Simultaneously, the buzzer produces a sound to
announce the result audibly.
5. Reset Functionality
o After the result is displayed, the system can be
reset to prepare for the next round.
This process ensures precision and fairness, even in high-
pressure scenarios.
9
Application
 Quiz Competitions – Quickly identifies the fastest
responder to a question.

10
 Talent Shows – Determines the contestant completing a
task first.
 Reaction-Time Training – Helps athletes and gamers
improve response times.
 Corporate Events – Engages employees in team-building
activities.
 Educational Institutions – Used for classroom games and
competitions.

Conclusion
The "Fast Voting Game System" is an innovative solution for
determining the fastest responder in competitive scenarios.
11
By automating the process, it ensures accuracy, fairness, and
excitement. The system’s simplicity and reliability make it
suitable for various applications, including quiz competitions,
talent shows, and training exercises.
This project highlights the potential of electronics to solve
real-world challenges and paves the way for further
advancements in gaming and competitive systems.
