Engine Powered Products

Important:
On the following pages the installation and activation for Engine Powered
Products get explained.
Regarding the basic use and functions of the ENGINE sample player please
read the 180-pages ENGINE manual that is available in form of a PDF file inside
your Engine Root Folder.

Installation

Installation
The installation of ENGINE and Engine Powered Products is very easy.
Every product package contains the software installers, the Sound Library, a manual and
your product serial number.
Please register your product immediately at the website “www.yellowtools.com”.
As a registered user you get exclusive access to the yellow tools user area where you will
get free software updates for your product.

IMPORTANT: Before you install the software from the DVD please
check out the yellow tools website for available updates of your
product to make sure that you will install the latest version.

The installation consists of three steps.

The first step is the installation of the Best Service Sample Player „ENGINE“ - if you
already have this software installed on your computer you can skip this step.
The second step is the installation of the files of your Engine Powered Product.
Copying the sound library from the DVD(s) to your hard disk is the final step three.

IMPORTANT: It is very important that you keep this installation order!

The installation of Engine Powered Products require an existing ENGINE
version installed on your computer.

After the installation you have to activate the product on your computer once. This process
is explained with all details in the chapter „product activation“.

Installation on Mac OS X

Step 1: Installation of ENGINE

Please insert the installation disc and double-click the installer for ENGINE.

Please read the information carefully and agree to the license agreement. You can now
select your destination directory.

Select „Easy Install“ (just continue) to install all components of ENGINE (recommended) or
click “Customize” to install only selected components.

IMPORTANT:
If you change the default directory for the “Engine Root Folder” you have to do a
custom installation for any Engine Powered Product afterwards!

The installer will create the folder „Engine Root Folder“ on your hard disk (default location
is “users/shared”). The standalone version gets installed in the folder “Best Service” into
your “Applications” folder. All other interfaces get installed automatically.

After the software installation was finished successfully please quit the Engine installer.

Step 2: Installation of Engine Powered Products

This process is for all Engine Powered Products the same - the following example is for the
prodcut “Cinematique Instruments”. Please double-click the installer application for your
Engine Powered Product on the installation disc.

If you installed ENGINE by default, you can simply continue.

If you installed the “Engine Root Folder” to another location, you have to choose
“Customize” and then select your “Engine Root Folder” manually.

The product files now get installed into the “Engine Root Folder” and the installation is
finished.

Step 3: Installation of the Sound Library

Generally any ENGINE sound libraries always have to get copied into the folder “image
files” inside the “Engine Root Folder” (you can also use aliases if you want to place the
content on another hard disk drive).
Please open your product DVD(s) on your desktop and copy the “Content” folders into the
“image files” folder inside your “Engine Root Folder”:

Now the installation of ENGINE and your Engine Powered Product is finished successfully
and you can continue with the product activation.

Installation on Windows XP, Windows Vista & Windows 7

Step 1: Installation of ENGINE

Please insert the installation disc and double-click the installer for ENGINE.

Please read the information and agree to the license agreement. You can now select your
destination directory.

Select “Typical“ to install all components of ENGINE or “Custom” to install only selected
components.

The installer will create the folder „Engine Root Folder“ on your hard disk. The standalone
version gets installed into the folder “Best Service Engine” inside your “Applications”
directory. Before the installation of the VST and RTAS interfaces starts, you can choose if
the installer should search for valid destination directories automatically or if you want to
select these directories manually.

If the installer found multiple results for destination directories you get prompted to select

the one you want to use for installation. If you selected the manual installation you can now
browse through your hard disks and make your selection.

After the software installation was finished successfully you can now quit the Engine
installer and continue with step two.

Step 2: Installation of Engine Powered Products

This process is for all Engine Powered Products the same - the following example is for the
prodcut “Cinematique Instruments). Please double-click the installer application for your
Engine Powered Product on the installation disc.

Please read the information carfefully and agree to the license agreement.

You can now choose if the installer should search for your “Engine Root Folder”
automatically or if you want to select your “Engine Root Folder” manually.

If there are multiple valid destination directories for your Engine Powered Product you will
be able to select the “Engine Root Folder” you want to use for the installation.

The product files now get installed into the available/selected “Engine Root Folder” and the
installation is finished.

Step 3: Installation of the Sound Library

Generally any ENGINE sound libraries always have to get copied into the folder “image
files” inside the “Engine Root Folder” (you can also use aliases if you want to place the
content on another hard disk drive).
Please open your product DVD(s) on your desktop and copy the “Content” folders into the
“image files” folder inside your “Engine Root Folder”:

Now the installation of ENGINE and your Engine Powered Product is finished successfully
and you can continue with the product activation.

Registration & Product Activation

Engine Powered Products has to get activated on your computer once before full
functionality is available. This activation process is very easy and can be completed with
the yellow tools E-License Manager software online or offline in a few minutes.
The operation of the E-License Manager for Mac and Windows works exactly the same
way - the screenshots in this manual are from the Mac version.
The product activation consists of two basic steps:
1) The E-License Manager generates a unique „Product Code“ specifically for the
computer you want to use with the product. This „Product Code“ has to get transmitted to
yellow tools.

2) You will immediately receive back a „Response Code“ to unlock the software for
permanent use.

The „E-License Manager“ launches automatically as soon as you load an ENGINE

instrument into ENGINE for the first time:

IMPORTANT: During the product activation you have to be logged in to your computer
as administrator with any reading/writing permissions.
On Windows you maybe have to deactivate the Windows UAC
temporarily.

Product Activation

The „Product Code“ gets generated automatically.

IMPORTANT: If you request for a Response Code online or via email you always
have to use the Response Code ONLY with the Product Code you
sent!
If you close the E-License Manager before the activation is finished,
a new Product Code will be generated with the next start. You then
have to paste both codes into the E-License Manager window:
The Product Code you sent before and the corresponding
Response Code you received.

You can request for your „Response Code“ online in the yellow tools User Area or send
an email including your product name, product serial number and your product code to
„[email protected]“.
In the User Area you will receive your Response Code immediately. The receipt of the
Response Code via email may last a few hours.

IMPORTANT: YOU HAVE TO REGISTER YOUR PRODUCT BEFORE YOU CAN

REQUEST FOR YOUR RESPONSE CODE!
WITH YOUR FIRST PRODUCT REGISTRATION YOU ALSO CREATE
YOUR USER ACCOUNT.
THE ONLINE REQUEST FOR THE RESPONSE CODE IS NOT IN
ANY WAY CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER WHERE YOU ARE
USING THE PRODUCT. YOU CAN USE ANY COMPUTER
YOU MIGHT HAVE, PROVIDING IT HAS INTERNET CONNECTION.

Here is how the product activation in the yellow tools User Area works:
Click on the button „Registration & User Area Login“ in the E-License Manager.

If you already have an account please login. If you do not yet have an account, please click
on the respective link to enter the registration page.

On this page please enter your personal details and your product serial number:

To finish the registration process click on the „submit“ button..
Both the direct login and the product registration will let you enter the welcome page of the
yellow tools User Area:

Product Activation

Inside your personal account you can check out the current status of your registered
products. In this part you can also register additional products in one easy step:

The product area shows all your registered products including the name, company,
registration date, serial number and also the already received number of E-Licenses.
As soon as you registered your E-License product you can request for your response code.
Please click on the „E-License“ link in the left navigation bar:

The online request for the response code consists of two steps:
At first please enter the serial number of the product for which you need a Response Code
- keep in mind that only registered products are available!
Afterwards enter the Product Code of your product and click on the „Request Response
Code“ button at the bottom of the page:

IMPORTANT: As long as you do not enter all required information, there will be slight
red borders around the input fields. You will not be able to click on the
„request“ button until you enter all required information correctly.

Now the information you entered get transmitted to the activation server. If all information
are valid your Response Code gets generated and displayed accordingly:

Product Activation

Now you can copy your Response Code (or write it down) and switch back to the
E-License Manager window. Paste (or enter) the Response Code into the respective field
and click the „Activate Product“ button to finish the activation:

Now your product is activated successfully on your computer for permanent use.
If you have any questions or need assistance regarding the activation of your product,
please send an email including your product details to „[email protected]“.

Wichtig:
In diesem Handbuch wird die Installation und Aktivierung von Engine Powered
Products beschrieben.
Informationen über die generelle Benutzung und die Funktionen des ENGINE
Sample Players können sie im 180-seitigen ENGINE Handbuch nachlesen, welches
sich in Form einer PDF Datei in ihrem Engine Root Folder befindet.

Installation

Installation
Die Installation von ENGINE und Engine Powered Products ist sehr einfach.
Der Lieferumfang beinhaltet die Software-Installer, die Sound Library, ein Handbuch sowie
die Produktseriennummer.
Bitte registrieren sie ihr Produkt umgehend auf der Internetseite www.yellowtools.com.
Als registrierter User erhalten sie exklusiven Zugang zu der yellow tools User Area, in der
sie kostenlose Updates für ihr Produkt erhalten.

WICHTIG: Bitte prüfen sie auf der yellow tools Internetseite, ob gegebenenfalls neuere
Software Updates für ihr Produkt verfügbar sind, bevor sie die Software von
der DVD-ROM installieren. So können sie sicher sein, dass sie auch die
neueste Version installieren werden.

Die Installation besteht aus drei Schritten.

Im ersten Schritt wird der Best Service Sample Player „ENGINE“ installiert - sollten sie
diese Software bereits installiert haben, so können sie diesen Schritt überspringen.
Im zweiten Schritt werden die Dateien ihres Engine Powered Products installiert.
Der dritte Schritt besteht aus dem Kopieren der Sound Library von den DVDs auf ihre
Festplatte.

WICHTIG: Halten sie diese Installationsreihenfolge unbedingt ein, da ihr Engine

Powered Product zur Installation eine vorhandene ENGINE Version
benötigt!

Nach der Installation müssen sie ihr Produkt einmalig auf ihrem Computer aktivieren.
Dieser Prozess wird im Kapitel „Aktivierung“ detailliert erklärt.

Schritt 1: Installation von ENGINE

Bitte legen sie die Installations Disc ein und doppelklicken den Installer für ENGINE.

Nachdem die Software Installation erfolgreich abgeschlossen wurde, können sie den
Engine Installer beenden.

ist für das Produkt “Cinematique Instruments”. Doppelklicken sie nun den Installer für ihr
Engine Powered Product auf der Installations Disc.

Wenn sie Engine standardmäßig installiert haben, können sie nun einfach fortfahren.
Sollten sie den “Engine Root Folder” an einen anderen Ort installiert haben, müssen sie
auf “Anpassen” klicken und ihren Engine Root Folder manuell auswählen.

Die Produkt Daten werden nun in ihren “Engine Root Folder” installiert und der

können nun das Zielverzeichnis auswählen.

Sollten bei automatischer Suche mehrere Zielverzeichnisse in Frage kommen, können sie
das gewünschte Verzeichnis aus einer Liste auswählen. Bei manueller Installation können
sie das gewünschte Zielverzeichnis angeben.

Nachdem die Software Installation erfolgreich abgeschlossen wurde, können sie den
Engine Installer beenden.

Schritt 2: Installation des Engine Powered Products

Dieser Vorgang ist für alle Engine Powered Products identisch - das folgende Beispiel
ist für das Produkt “Cinematique Instruments”. Doppelklicken sie nun den Installer für ihr
Engine Powered Product auf der Installations Disc.

Bitte lesen sie folgenden Informationen sorgfältig und akzeptieren die

Lizenzbestimmungen.

Sie können nun auswählen, ob der Installer das Zielverzeichnis (dem Engine Root Folder)
automatisch suchen soll, oder ob sie diesen Ordner lieber manuell angeben möchten.
Sollte es mehrere mögliche Zielverzeichnisse geben, so können sie ihr gewünschtes
Verzeichnis während des Installationsvorgangs auswählen.

Die Produkt Daten werden nun in den vorhandenen/ausgewählten “Engine Root Folder”
installiert und der Installationsprozess ist abgeschlossen.

Schritt 3: Installation der TITAN Sound Library

Grundsätzlich müssen alle ENGINE Sound Libraries immer in den Ordner “image files”
innerhalb ihres “Engine Root Folder” kopiert werden (sie können auch Aliase verwenden,
wenn sie den Content auf eine andere Festplatte kopieren möchten).
Legen sie die ihre Produkt DVDs ein, öffnen sie diese auf ihrem Desktop und kopieren sie
die jeweiligen “Content” Ordner in den “image files” Ordner innerhalb ihres “Engine Root
Folder” Ordners.

Die Installation von ENGINE und ihrem Engine Powered Product wurde nun erfolgreich
beendet und sie können mit der Produktaktivierung fortfahren.

Registrierung & Produktaktivierung

Engine Powered Products müssen für die volle Funktionsfähigkeit zuerst auf ihrem
Computer aktiviert werden. Dieser Aktivierungsvorgang ist sehr einfach und kann in nur
wenigen Minuten mit der E-License Manager Software online oder offline durchgeführt

werden. Die Bedienung des E-License Managers ist für Mac und Windows völlig identisch -
die Screenshots dieses Handbuchs sind von der Mac Version.
Die Produktaktivierung besteht aus zwei Hauptschritten:
1) Der E-License Manager generiert einen einzigartigen „Product Code“ spezifisch für
den Computer, auf dem sie das Produkt nutzen möchten. Dieser „Product Code“ muss an
yellow tools übermittelt werden.
2) Sie erhalten umgehend einen „Response Code“ zurück. Mit diesem können sie die
Software aktivieren.

Der „E-License Manager“ öffnet sich automatisch, sobald sie zum ersten Mal ein Engine
Instrument in Engine laden:

WICHTIG: Für die Produktaktivierung müssen sie als Administrator mit sämtlichen
Schreib- und Leserechten auf ihrem Computer eingeloggt sein.
Unter Windows müssen sie evtl. die Windows UAC vorübergehend
deaktivieren.

Produkt-Aktivierung

Der „Product Code“ wird automatisch generiert.

WICHTIG: Wenn sie einen Response Code online oder via Email anfordern,
müssen sie den Response Code IMMER zusammen mit
dem Product Code verwenden, den sie geschickt haben!
Wenn sie den E-License Manager schließen, bevor die Aktivierung
beendet wurde, wird beim nächsten Start eine neuer Product Code
generiert.
In diesem Fall müssen sie dann beide Codes in dem E-License
Manager Fenster eingeben: Den Product Code, den sie geschickt
haben und den dazu passenden Response Code, den sie erhalten
haben.

Sie können ihren „Response Code“ online in der yellow tools User Area anfordern oder
auch eine Email mit dem Produktnamen, Produkt Seriennummer und ihrem „Product
Code“ an „[email protected]“ schicken. In der User Area erhalten sie ihren
Response Code umgehend. Die Zusendung des Response Codes via Email kann einige
Stunden dauern.

WICHTIG: SIE MÜSSEN IHR PRODUKT VOR DER ANFORDERUNG IHRES

RESPONSE CODES REGISTRIEREN!
DURCH IHRE ERSTE PRODUKTREGISTRIERUNG ERSTELLEN
SIE AUCH IHREN USER ACCOUNT.
DIE ONLINE ANFORDERUNG DES RESPONSE CODES IST NICHT
AN DEN COMPUTER GEBUNDEN, AUF DEM SIE DAS PRODUKT
BENUTZEN MÖCHTEN. SIE KÖNNEN HIERFÜR JEDEN
COMPUTER VERWENDEN, VORAUSGESETZT ER VERFÜGT
ÜBER EINE INTERNET VERBINDUNG.

Und so funktioniert die Produktaktivierung in der yellow tools User Area:

Klicken Sie auf den Button „Registration & User Area Login“ im E-License Manager.

Wenn Sie bereits einen Account haben, loggen sie sich bitte ein. Sollten Sie noch
keinen Account besitzen, klicken sie bitte auf den entsprechenden Link um auf die
Registrierungsseite zu gelangen.
Dort geben sie ihre persönlichen Daten und die Produktseriennummer ein:

Klicken Sie den „submit“ button um die Registrierung abzuschließen.
Sowohl der direkte Login als auch die Produktregistrierung leiten sie auf die
Begrüßungsseite der yellow tools User Area weiter:

Produkt-Aktivierung

Innerhalb ihres persönlichen Accounts können sie den aktuellen Status ihrer registrierten
Produkte einsehen. In diesem Bereich können sie auch weitere Produkte in nur einem
einfach Schritt registrieren:

Der Produktbereich ihres Accounts zeigt ihnen alle aktuell registrierten Produkte, inklusive
Namen, Firma, Registrierungsdatum, Seriennummer und auch die Anzahl der bereits
erhaltenen E-Licenses.
Sobald sie ihr E-License Produkt registriert haben, können sie ihren Response Code
anfordern. Hierfür klicken sie bitte auf den Link „E-License“ in der linken Navigation:

Die Online Anforderung des Response Codes besteht aus zwei Schritten:
Bitte geben sie zuerst die Seriennummer des Produktes ein, für das sie einen Response
Code anfordern möchten - denken sie daran, dass ausschließlich registrierte Produkte
verfügbar sind! Anschließend geben sie den Product Code ihres Produktes ein und klicken
zum Abschluss auf den Button „Request Response Code“ am Ende der Seite:

WICHTIG: Solange sie nicht alle erforderlichen Informationen eingegeben haben,
erscheinen dünne rote Umrandungen um die Eingabefelder.
Es müssen erst alle benötigten Daten eingegeben werden, bevor sie den
„Request Response Code“ Button anklicken können.

Es werden nun die von ihnen eingetragenen Informationen an den Aktivierungs-Server

übertragen. Sind alle Informationen gültig, wird ihr Response Code generiert und
entsprechend angezeigt:

Sie können ihren Response Code nun kopieren (oder aufschreiben) und wieder zurück
zum E-License Manager Fenster wechseln. Fügen sie nun den Response Code in
