PP 1101 is a whitish polypropylene powder, which is optimised for the use as a laser sintering material. The material is
characterised by high chemical resistance with balanced mechanical proerties.
Properties
• excellent resistance to chemicals, especially sulfuric acid, formic acid, potassium permanganate, hydrochloric acid, sodium
hydroxide solution, fuels and alcohols
• very low water absorption
• low weight
• smooth surface
• flexibility
Typical applications are usually chemically and mechanically loaded functional prototypes and parts, or prototypes for serial
production parts made with injection molded polypropylene. The material is often used in the automotive industry for
external parts on the chassis, interior parts and parts that are conveying fluids. Further applications include home
appliances, pipings in and around the house, as well as consumer goods, including packaging for detergents and products
for personal hygiene, due to the material's high chemical stability and very low water absorption. Additionally, it may be
used for small series production of laboratory equipment and parts that need to be disinfected.

3D Data Value Unit Test Standard
The properties of parts manufactured using additive manufacturing technology (e.g. laser sintering, stereolithography, Fused Deposition Modelling, 3D printing) are,
due to their layer-by-layer production, to some extent direction dependent. This has to be considered when designing the part and defining the build orientation.
