Over the years, the world has continued to upgrade from simple forms of
communication. Today, we use various technologies to communicate. IT has
transformed communication by making it faster, more accessible, and more
interconnected.

B. How has IT transformed education?

IT transforms education into a much more interactive and meaningful learning


experience. Through IT, it provides new ways of learning beyond traditional classroom
settings. With the transformation of education, it helps teachers, especially, as they can
create engaging and interactive instructional materials including, multimedia
presentations.

C. How has IT transformed business?

IT enables businesses to innovate faster, developing and launching new


products and services more quickly. Through IT, many entrepreneurs find their
work easier by connecting with customers, manufacturers, and employees
through messaging apps and video conferencing. Moreover, the advancement
of IT in business allows many employees to work from anywhere with internet
access.

Part 3: Benefits and Challenges of Living in the IT Era

 Benefits:

1. It makes our life easier to connect with other people and access to
information on virtually any topic imaginable, news and current events can
be accessed instantly, keeping us informed about global happenings.

We can't deny the fact that AI is transforming everything. It has a


significant impact on every aspect of our lives. AI can personalize learning
experiences, adapt to individual students' needs, and provide real-time
feedback, leading to more effective and engaging education. Through AI, it
helps improve healthcare by enabling more accurate diagnoses,
personalized treatment plans, and faster drug discovery.

2. Smart Cities:

Smart cities have the potential to significantly impact society. One key
benefit is enhanced connectivity and accessibility. Smart cities improve
connectivity through advanced data networks and IoT devices, fostering
better communication and collaboration among residents.

Part 5: Practical Application – The Use of IT in Daily Life


1. Give an example of how IT is used in each of the following areas of daily life:
 Home:

As technology continues to advance, our homes are also improving, particularly in


terms of appliances. For example, we have smart TVs that connect to the internet,
allowing us to stream and watch YouTube videos. In communication, IT enables video
calls and conferences, allowing us to communicate with family and friends across
distances. For example, I have two siblings who work from faraway lands, and we use
video conferencing to communicate with them.

 Workplace:

Information Technology (IT) has become an indispensable part of the modern


workplace, transforming how businesses operate, communicate, and collaborate. It
makes it easier for employees to track their payroll processing. For example, they can
access their monthly salary through ATMs. Additionally, when conducting a meeting
and you're not around, we can hold it virtually using apps like Zoom.

 Education:

IT is used extensively in research. For example, when conducting a research study,


you need to conduct research to find the related literature (RRL) for your study. This
process is essential for completing the research. In this way, IT plays a crucial role in
the lives of every student, as it can deepen their understanding of the context.

Part 6: Reflection

1. Why is IT important in the modern world? Reflect on its role in shaping globalization,
innovation, and smart living.

In today's generation, IT plays an important role in shaping every aspect of our lives. This has made
information readily accessible to a wider audience, increasing education, awareness, and
participation in global conversations. As technology continues to upgrade, people are becoming more
dependent on it. In addition, because of IT, many businesses have become successful, creating
business opportunities for employees. Everything we've experienced, from fast transactions to easier
communication through messaging apps and other tools, is because of IT. In our homes, we can see a
change from simple TVs to today's smart TVs that connect to Wi-Fi and allow us to watch videos
and more. We are all happy for all the technology we have right now because it makes our lives
easier. At the same time, let's bear in mind to use this technology appropriately.
