I hope so!
Presenting of Learning Objectives
In order for us to be guided to our lesson today,
may I request Jhanvic to please read our learning
objectives
At the end of lesson, the students must be
able to:
a) discuss the methods of scientific method
comprehensively;
b) role play the proper ways on acquiring
information through the use of scientific method;
and
c) appreciate the relevant of scientific method in
our daily lives through making slogan.
Thank you so much!
Motivation
But before we proceed to our topic, let us have an
activity. This activity is called “The
Extraordinary Attorney Me”
Class, have you seen her before? Yes, Ma’am
Who is she? Attorney Woo
Yes, very good
She is Attorney Woo an autistic lawyer despite of
having this condition she is extremely smart. She
is thorough when it comes to different cases, from
observing to making conclusions.
So, in our activity I want you to become just like
Attorney Woo, when it comes to investigating a
case.
Case:
Lee Min Ho noticed that his potted house plant for
his study table that he watered everyday
unfortunately died.
Now he wants to know more so that when he gets
a plant again, He can take care of it better. How
can you help Lee Min Ho to his case and what are
your observations, advice, and conclusion to his
case?
(Student will share their ideas)
Guided Questions:
1. What was the observation of Lee Min
Ho’s to his plant?
2. What do you think is the reason? and
why it suddenly died?
3. In what way we can check or examine
that our reason is correct?
4. What advice can you give to Lee Min
Ho so that next time when he plants
again, he can take care of it better?
Thank you for your ideas and your precise
answers.
Let us give everyone the Bestie Chant of Yoong
Woo and her befriend.
Woo to the young to the woo
Dong to the Geu to the Ra mi (HAH!)
Thank you for participating!
Presenting of new lesson
So, class, the topic that we will be discussing
today is all about the Scientific Method
Unlocking of Scientific Method- is used in scientific inquiry by
difficulties scientists to answer questions and solve problems.
It involves a series of steps that help them to
investigate, experiment, and draw conclusions
based on evidence.
Hypothesis- tentative insight into the natural
world; a concept that is not yet verified but that if
true would explain certain facts or phenomena.
Conclusion- is the last part of something, its end
or result. A decision or judgment that is made after
careful thought
Research- the process of collecting and analyzing
information to increase our understanding of
phenomena
Record- information that is written on paper or
stored on computer so that it can be used in the
future.
ACTIVITY
In order for you to have deeper understanding
about our topic for today let us have another
activity. This activity is called “’
For this activity I will divide you into 6 groups this
will be the Group 1,2,3,4,5, and 6
But before you get your information sheets for
your reporting. I will give you first a envelope
inside the envelope there are random words all you
have to do is to arrange the words. The first group
to finish will get the highest score.
G-1 Make Observation
G-2 Come Up with a Question
G-3 Develop a hypothesis
G-4 Conduct and experiment
G-5 Record and analyze the results
G-6 Draw Conclusions
(teacher will check their answers and recognize the
winner)
(teacher will give their information sheets and
present the rubrics)
Yes, ma’am
Class, you have 7 minutes to do the activity. When
the time is up, I will randomly choose one
representative every group to present your output.
Am I understood class?
Thank you!
You may now start.

results
(Group 6 will present their output)
Thank you Group 6- Draw Conclusions
(teacher will announce their scores base on the
rubrics)
ABSTRACTION
Just like what I’ve said earlier
Scientific Method used in scientific inquiry by
scientists to answer questions and solve problems.
Take note that, the scientific method is not
just for scientists, anyone can use it in
their everyday lives to solve problems and
answer questions.
So, it has 6 steps
1. Make Observation
When you notice something interesting,
you can say an Observation is Made.
Scientific Observations trigger curiosity
and interest to know more.
For instance, let us go back to the plants of Lee
Min Ho
Lee Min Ho observed that his potted plant which
is he watered everyday suddenly died. So, he got
curious that how observations made.
2. Come Up with a Question
When an interesting observation is made,
you wonder why and what you observed
happened.
In other term you come up with a question
and wonder why and what happened.
Same case to the plant of Lee Min Ho.
He was wondering why did the plant die, even
though it was watered frequently. Therefore, he
come with the questions why and what. So, that’s
the second step.
3. Develop a hypothesis
A ‘hypothesis’ is an educated guess or a
possible explanation.
Once you have a hypothesis, you can then
design an experiment to test it and see if
your prediction is correct or not.
Let us go back again to the case Lee Min Ho.
You know that, you watered the plant very well.
So, your hypothesis is that maybe the soil in your
pot was never dry that made the plant died. So,
your educated guess is that the plant died due to
getting too much water.
4. Conduct and experiment
Conducting an experiment is the most
difficult step in the Scientific Method. It is
a way to test a hypothesis and gather
evidence to support or disprove it. It is
also a highly exciting process that students
get to experience in school laboratories.
1. You have the hypothesis ready.
2. Design the experiment. This means
figuring out what materials and equipment
you will need, what procedures you will
follow, and how you will measure your
results.
3. Conduct the experiment. This involves
following your procedures carefully,
making observations, and recording your
results.
Again, let’s go back to the case of Lee Min Ho
1. Your hypothesis: Your plant died because
of too much watering
2. Design the experiment: You will get two
plants and water them differently till one
of them dies
3. Materials and equipment needed: Two
similar potted plants, name cards written
with A and B, and a notebook
4. Experiment: Water plant A like you did
with your original dead house plant. Water
B with half that amount.
5. Record Data: During the experiment,
record the daily observations on a
notebook. You can make a table with two
columns for Plant A and Plant B. Note
down different factors – date, volume of
water given, leaf and stem strength, leaf
colour
5. Record and analyze the results
In this stage, data collected during the
experiment is anlaysed. The goal is to
know whether the data proves the
hypothesis or disproves it. This involves:
Explaining the data gathered from the
experiment.
Observations, information and data are
collected from the experiment.
Use of pictorial representation via charts,
graphs, averages, percentages, etc.
You finally conducted the experiment. So, the case
the Lee Min Ho The data collected show that Plant
A and B were healthy at the start of the
experiment.
It shows that Plant A, which received more water,
started becoming unhealthy by week 2 – its leaves
changed color, its stem became weak.
6. Draw Conclusions
The report should say:
Is the data and measurement correct?
What are the possible sources of error?
Does the data (answer) support the
hypothesis? Why or why not?
Conclusion for the case of Lee Min Ho.
Plant A, which received the same water as
the original potted plant, died. Plant B,
which received less water than Plant A,
survived.
This supports the hypothesis that the
original potted plant died due to over-
watering.
The experiment is successfully concluded
So that’s how the scientific method creates magic
from your observations to conclusions.
What was again the 6 steps of Scientific Method?
1. Make Observation
2. Come Up with a
Question
Is everything clear? 3. Develop a hypothesis
Is there any questions class? 4. Conduct and
Yes, Glori experiment
5. Record and analyze the
results
6. Draw Conclusions
Thank you for the question, Glori.
So, if that is the case, you don’t have any
materials. Is everyone here have cellphone? About the 4th step what if I don’t
have any materials for
Okay, everyone has a cellphone in order for you to conducting experiments, what
get an accurate information I want you to use your should I do?
cellphone for searching information regarding to
your problem.
Because we all know that everything, we don’t
know in just one click in the google for instance,
your questions will definitely answered. Right?
So, I encourage everyone to utilize your gadgets in Yes, ma’am
proper way, wherein you will able to acquire
knowledge from it.
Am I understood?
Any questions
Alright!
Yes, ma’am
None ma’am
APPLICATION
This time to test your learning about our topic let
us have another activity wherein your knowledge
will apply.
Same group earlier. You will be having a role
playing so, I want you to think of a situation or
problems that you encountered in your daily live
wherein you can apply the scientific method. You
only have maybe 1-2 minutes to present. But I will
give 10 minutes to prepare.
And you will be graded base on this rubric.
Am I understood class?
You may now start.
Times Up!
(Every group will present their role play) Yes, Ma’am!
Assignment For your assignment make a slogan wherein
you can appreciate the relevant of scientific
method in our daily live and make it A4 bond
paper.
Evaluation PASSPORT TO LEAVE
Teacher will ask question to each student
regarding to the topic and that will serve as
their passport to leave the classroom.
