English Lesson Plan

Date: 30/31-10-2024
School: Al-Nahda School
Name: Walaa Hmaid
Lesson: Letters
Duration: 2 sessions
Grade: 1 A+B

General Objectives:
 By the end of this session the students should be able to:
1. Identify and recognize the uppercase and lowercase forms of the
letters L M N O
2. Produce the correct phonetic sound for the letters.
3. Name at least one word that begin with the letters.
4. Write both uppercase and lowercase a correctly.

Materials:
Forms of the letters (uppercase and lowercase)
- Picture cards of objects that start with the letters (e.g. Lion , moon,
nine, orange… )
- Worksheets for tracing and writing the letters
- Art supplies (crayons, markers)
- Whiteboard and markers
- Letters song or chant

Warm-up:
- Start with a fun song that includes the letters to engage students.
-Show the flashcard of the letters and ask students to call out the letter
name and sound.

Procedures:
1. Introduction:
- Explain the goal of the lesson: "Today, we are going to learn about
the letters L M N O"
- Display the uppercase and lowercase of the letters on the board.

2. Guided Practice:
- Emphasize the sound of the letters.
- Show picture cards of objects that start with. Ask students to name
the objects and repeat the sound together.
- Write some of these words on the board (e.g., lion moon nine
orange ….).

3. Interactive Activity:
- Tracing and Writing: Distribute worksheets for students to trace the
letters. Include sections for them to practice writing both uppercase
and lowercase.
- Encourage students to say the letter sound as they trace and write.

Closure:
- Review the letters, its sound, and words that start with. Ask students
to share one word they learned.
-As students leave, they can say one word that starts with the letters.
