Problem Analysis of Homelessness
Homelessness is a serious problem in Chicago. The impact of homelessness on
us as individuals may be as small as throwing a rock into the ocean, but the homeless
have a very serious impact on themselves and the community. There are many
homeless people in our society today, many of whom have become homeless
voluntarily or involuntarily, and many of them really need help from all of us. There
may not be much that can be done in a small way, but with the help of both society
and organizations, the problem of homelessness can certainly be solved. In the
articles by PR Newswire and USA Today Magazine, it is evident that the community is
helping the homeless in their lives through drop-in centers for youth and elderly
homeless people. In the article by Corli Jay and Relias Media, it is clear that the
community has given a great deal of money to help the homeless, and has given
substantial help to the homeless, both mentally and physically. Some homeless
people are unable to find work because they are unable to work, so they have to live
on the streets. But there are those who have the ability to work but do not have an
agency that they like, so they cannot find a job, and there are also homeless people
who are lazy by nature and do not want to find a job. These are all serious problems
for the homeless. But in any case, the large number of homeless people shows that
our social system still has a lot of problems to be solved.
First, the large youth homeless population is a major sticking point in Chicago's
homelessness problem, a problem that spawns health, drug, and crime hazards, and
even threatens the personal safety of the general population. The problem has
become more serious under the influence of the epidemic and other factors. In the
context of the epidemic, there has been a significant surge in youth homelessness in
the United States, which fully illustrates that the epidemic not only amplifies the
multiple social problems that have long existed in Chicago, but also affects the
economy of the entire society, which ultimately hurts the underclass, causing more
people to become unemployed, or even displaced, and become homeless. With the
continuous socio-political and economic development, the city has made a rising
trend of juvenile homeless crime. Juvenile delinquency is a social phenomenon with
a complex situation and the causes are multifaceted, caused by a variety of factors
such as family, society, and the youth's own reasons, among which the negative
impact of their lack of a permanent family is a direct and important cause of juvenile
delinquency. So in the article by the author PR Newswire there is how to solve the
problem of homelessness among teenagers. They held a party for homeless children
and the agency prepared 500 gifts to distribute to families so that homeless children
could feel the warmth and substantial help from society at an early age. This will
solve the problem at its root. Also, in an article in USA Today Magazine, they
fundamentally help the youth homeless who can seek warmth and nourishment in
the shelters established by the community. Their shelters are open 24 hours a day
and provide food, hot showers, clothing, and many young people will eat, visit and
live there. These agencies give very important help to the youth homeless. This can
have a direct impact on the behavioral and psychological well-being of the youth
homeless. Therefore, in the process of preventing juvenile delinquency, improving
substantial help for them and improving their standard of living is an effective way.
This can reduce the problem of youth homelessness for the society.
Second, homelessness is a growing problem in Chicago, and a large part of it
comes from the city's housing crisis. For the millions of homeless people, rent takes
up half of their income. So many people with low or no income do not have enough
money to pay their rent. Part of the reason for this is the rapid socio-economic shift
that is causing those without financial resources to quickly lose their homes and
contributing to the serious problem of homelessness. Among the homeless, many
suffer from a variety of mental illnesses due to family evictions and domestic
violence. In this regard, in an article by Corli Jay, it is reported that in September
2021, the government funded more than $35 million to help the homeless, and
Chicago funders donated $1.3 million to help this large homeless population. This will
allow many of the homeless to have a warm home, which is a very big help. And, in
the article by Relias Media, they have helped a lot of homeless people by partnering
with hospital housing to get them back into housing and reunite them with their
families, which I think is a very substantial help and helps the homeless to a great
extent. This kind of help allows the homeless who are on welfare to be eligible for a
lot of social assistance, and they can only survive in the public space if they have
access to housing. So this, coupled with the warmth of society's support for these
people, is a better solution to the problem of homelessness.
In summary. Helping the homeless is a long-term, large and systematic social
issue that involves all aspects of society and requires the active participation of the
whole community and the joint efforts of all walks of life. Through our efforts to help
the homeless in all aspects of their lives. It is clear that the protection and support of
youth homelessness in housing and youth homelessness is very important, and when
everyone and society helps the homeless in every way, it will definitely solve the
serious problem of homelessness in Chicago.
