For generations, the Synoptophore has been THE standard instrument
of choice for the busy Orthoptic clinic. It is ideal for the assessment and
treatment of ocular motility disorders by reliably performing the most
comprehensive binocular vision assessment available today.
Versatile, accurate and easy-to-use, the Synoptophore provides precise
measurements in a single, effortless examination. Standard measurements
and treatments include the assessment of; the objective and subjective
angle of deviation, abnormal retinal correspondence (ARC), cyclophoria,
hyperphoria and horizontal and vertical vergences.
The easy-to-operate variable manual controls enable the complete
examination of binocular potential, within one instrument. It allows for the
assessment of; simultaneous perception, positive and negative fusional
amplitudes and gross stereopsis.

3 different models
2001 Model
The 2001 is the most comprehensive model in the range. All standard
measurements and treatments are possible, and the model boasts an
automatic flashing unit allowing each eye to be stimulated alternately or
simultaneously. A removable pair of Haidinger’s Brushes motor units are
provided as standard, allowing users to employ pleoptic techniques to
assess and treat eccentric fixation and abnormal retinal correspondance.
2002 Model
The 2002 model combines all the features of the 2001, with the exception
of the Haidinger’s Brushes. It is ideal for the assessment and treatment
of patients needing orthoptic care or management.
2003 Model
The 2003 model provides all the standard measurements and treatments

including the manual flashing switches and independent dimming
rheostats.
Meets IEC 60601-1 3rd edition &
regulatory standards
The range of CE-marked Synoptophore models have been updated to
meet the stringent IEC 60601-1 3rd Edition and regulatory standards. The
models have undergone rigorous safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility
(EMC) and environmental testing and now boast low-smoke paint and
moulded, flame-retardant plastic parts.
Complimentary slides
An extensive range of complimentary hand-crafted slides are available,
which are easily understood and recognised by patients. The slides fit all
Synoptophore models and come in different colour-coded series, for use in COMPLIMENTARY SLIDES
different tests and treatments.
