Slide 1: Statistic

Jiya: Globally, around 60% of electricity is still generated using fossil fuels, which not only depletes non-
renewable resources but also contributes significantly to climate change. With the growing global population
and energy demand, finding sustainable and innovative energy solutions has become a necessity.

Slide 2: Names and Topic

Jiya: Good morning, My name is Jiya

Sam: And I am samaira. Today, we are thrilled to share our idea: a system that uses the science of
piezoelectricity to generate electricity from footsteps. Our goal is to explore how human activity in high-
traffic areas can be converted into a renewable and sustainable energy source."

Slide 3: What is Piezoelectricity?

Sam: So, what exactly is piezoelectricity? It is the process by which certain materials, like quartz or
ceramics, generate an electric charge when mechanical stress is applied. In simpler terms, when you press or
step on these materials, they produce electricity.

Jiya: This phenomenon occurs because the mechanical pressure distorts the material’s atomic structure,
leading to a separation of positive and negative charges, which generates voltage. What’s exciting is that this
energy generation is both clean and sustainable, making it ideal for innovative applications such as our
footsteps-energy system.

Why focus on footsteps? Think about it: every day, millions of people walk through high-traffic areas like
airports, train stations, shopping malls, and stadiums. Each step exerts mechanical energy on the ground—
energy that usually goes to waste.

Sam: This system doesn’t rely on weather conditions like solar or wind power, and it continuously generates
energy as long as people are moving. It’s a reliable and efficient solution, especially for urban
environments."

Slide 4: Working of Prototype

Jiya: Now, let’s look at how our prototype works. Imagine a floor embedded with piezoelectric sensors.

 When a person steps on the floor, the pressure exerted activates the piezoelectric materials.
 These materials convert the mechanical stress from the footsteps into small electrical charges.
 The electricity generated is then collected and stored in a battery for later use.

Sam: We have designed a simple prototype where stepping on a piezoelectric tile runs a car. This
demonstrates how even small-scale energy can be used effectively for applications like streetlights, charging
devices, or powering public spaces."

Conclusion
Jiya: In conclusion, generating electricity through footsteps is a step—literally—toward a greener future. we
can harness the mechanical energy we produce every day and convert it into a clean, renewable energy
source
