Mechanical Checks and Visual Inspection:( Dry type of transformer )
• Check presence of Dust , Moisture etc in testing equipment area.
• Inspect switchgear and all components for any physical damage / defects.
• Check nameplate information for correctness.
• Check installation of jumpers at LV side of Transformer
• Check Bolting of Tap Position.
• Mounting of Temperature controller , Temperature sensors , Associated cabling (
ferruling and Termination ) as per cable schedule
• Installation of Lightning arrestor, Counters, Lamps
• Installation of Castle key systems on transformer door
• Check 33 KV cable and associated installation work.
• Inspect enclosures for proper alignment, foundation fixing, and grounding and
vermin entry.
• Inspect all covers section and doors for paintwork and proper fit.
• Check tightness of all bolted connections.
• Make sure all connections to cables or bus bars are properly connected and well
positioned.
• Check for correct phasing connection of Primary and secondary
• Check for below Safety distances maintained to avoid to prevent electrical
breakdown discharges, maintain the distances indicated in the table,

• Check the minimum distance x from the insulated parts High Voltage windings or
connections to the metallic parts or Low Voltage, to avoid a possible breakdown.
• Check for distances between High Voltage non-insulated parts and Low Voltage
metallic part the suitable values in the High Voltage regulations or applicable
standards to be maintained
2. Mechanical Checks and Visual Inspection:( 33 KV GIS )
• Check presence of Dust , Moisture etc in testing equipment area.
• Inspect switchgear and all components for any physical damage / defects.
• Check nameplate information for correctness.
• Inspect enclosures for proper alignment, foundation fixing, and grounding and vermin
entry.
• Inspect all covers, panels’ section and doors for paintwork and proper fit.
• Check all the transport locks are removed.
• Check all Associated cabling ( ferruling and Termination ) as per cable schedule
• Check for smooth and proper movement of racking mechanisms, shutter, rollers, rails and
guides.
• Check proper alignment of the primary and secondary contacts.
• Check operation of all mechanical interlocks.
• Check tightness of all bolted connections.
• Check for correct phasing connection of bus bar.
• Perform mechanical check and visual inspection for breaker / Contactor as per section.
• Perform mechanical check and visual inspection for instrument transformers as per
section
• Perform mechanical check and visual inspection on all disconnects / grounding switches
as per section.
3. Mechanical Checks and Visual Inspection of battery charger and battery
• Check cleanliness of Battery charger panel and associated equipments
• Inspect Battery and Battery Charger components for any physical damage / defects.
• Check nameplate information for correctness.
• Check all Associated cabling ( ferruling and Termination ) as per cable schedule
• Inspect enclosures for proper alignment, foundation fixing, and grounding and vermin
entry.
• Inspect all covers section and doors for paintwork and proper fit.
• Check tightness of all bolted connections. Tightness check to be carried out by Torque
wrench with manufacturer recommended torque (For M10, torque value shall be 12 to 16
Nm as per manufacturer manual).
• Make sure all connections to cables or bus bars are properly connected and well positioned.
• Check for correct phasing sequence connection at charger Input
4. Mechanical Checks and Visual Inspection for LV distribution board ( AC and DC )
• Inspect Distribution Board components for any physical damage / defects.
• Check nameplate information for correctness.
• Inspect enclosures for proper alignment, Wall/Frame fixing, and grounding and vermin
entry.
• Inspect all covers, panels’ section and doors for paintwork and proper fit.
• Check all Associated cabling ( ferruling and Termination ) as per cable schedule
• Check for smooth and proper movement of Door mechanisms, and guides.
• Check operation of all mechanical interlocks.
• Check tightness of all bolted connections.
• Check for correct phasing connection of bus bar.
• Perform mechanical check and visual inspection for breaker / Contactor as per section.
