Your Highest Scoring Strengths

These are likely to be things that you do well and that you really enjoy doing. You’re likely to feel energised when you are using these
Strengths to complete a task and feel fully absorbed in what you are doing.

When you think about your future, it might be useful to think about these Strengths and how you can make the most of them in your life. These
development tips will give you some ideas of what you can do to really make the most of your Strengths both in your career and personal life.

The three highest-scoring Strengths that were identified for you during the completion of the BCLP Strengths assessment were:
Pride is one of your top strengths. You strive to give your best in everything you do. You like to get things right first time and always like to
produce work of a very high quality. This strength means that others are likely to be able to rely on you to produce work of an excellent
standard and that you will meet or exceed their expectations.

Developing this strength further

Striving for excellence is to be commended. However, this could sometimes result in work being delivered late. Are there some tasks
where you could strike a better balance between quality and time?
There may be occasions when it would be beneficial to ask for the help of others to ensure that you deliver high-quality work but also
meet milestones and deadlines. You could use this as an opportunity to share your ways of working to help build others’ sense of pride
in completing work to an excellent standard.
There are also likely to be occasions when it might be better to put a little bit less effort into perfecting a first draft. Sometimes it can be
beneficial to check that you have the basic principles and structure correct, before adding the detail, to ensure time is not wasted.

Efficiency is one of your greatest strengths. You seem able to manage your time highly effectively. You like to take an organised approach and
ensure that your use of time is always optimised. This strength should mean that you are excellent at managing your workload and organise
your schedule to achieve as much as possible.
Developing this strength further

Continue to spend time planning and scheduling your work to make sure you continue to work efficiently. However, it is also important to
be able to react to urgent requests and to be able to adapt to changes, so try to build some contingency into your schedule to enable
you to accommodate these.
Can you share your ways of working with others who find planning and organising more difficult? What methods and systems could help
make the team work more efficiently together?
Make sure that you keep abreast of the latest technological advancements so that you can quickly adopt more efficient ways of working.

Critical Reasoning came out as one of your top strengths. You appear to be someone who enjoys taking an analytical approach and will
critically evaluate the information you are presented with. You are likely to be someone who takes time to evaluate the logic of arguments and
any conclusions that have been drawn.

Developing this strength further

Think about how you can use this strength to spot the big issues within the detail. When working on repetitive tasks involving checking, it
is still important to look for patterns and trends across everything you have looked at.
Think about how you can use your critical reasoning to help others. Can you help to review their documents and proposals to ensure
there are no flaws in their work?
Look to stretch yourself and get involved in more complex work. Once you have demonstrated your ability, people may be more willing to
trust you with the review of more complex documents. Show a willingness to get involved in this more challenging work.
Your Lowest Scoring Strength
This may be an area that you do less well and that you are likely to find less enjoyable than your highest scoring Strengths. You may find
situations associated with this Strength more draining or exhausting. Please remember that even though this is your lowest scoring Strength in
the assessment, it does not mean that this is an area of weakness for you.
If you consider this Strength personally important for getting started in your career, then you may want to think about how you can develop
your capability in it. However, as this assessment only measures the selected Strengths required for BCLP’s Training programme, it’s likely
that you will have many other Strengths you may wish to use to help you succeed.

The lowest Strength that was identified for you during the completion of BCLP’s Strengths assessment was:
You tend to adopt a realistic approach to what is achievable and are willing to say when you feel that you are not the right person for a task.
However, you need to be ready to take on challenges that might stretch you. You will also need to take full responsibility for completing the
work you have promised to deliver.
Developing this into more of a strength

Ask yourself if you are stretching yourself enough. Whilst it is important not to over-commit, stretching yourself to take on new and
different challenges may provide you with more rewarding work.
Look back at times when you have been unable to deliver what you have promised. Did you over-commit or did you under-deliver
compared with what you are capable of? What would have needed to be different to achieve a successful outcome?
Remember that you can reach out for help and support from other people. Taking ownership does not necessarily mean having to do
everything yourself. It means being motivated to ensure a task is completed one way or another, even if that means asking others to
support you.
