INDIA and the world in 2050
India will be one of the most powerful countries in the world by
2050, leading the multipolar world characterized by innovation,
demographic changes, and global cooperation. The country's
population is expected to stabilize at 1.6 billion and have the largest
working-age population in the world, with more than 68% of it being
under 40 years old. This demographic benefit, combined with sound
economic policies, will make India the second-largest economy in the
world with a projected GDP of $40 trillion. Technological
advancements will form the core of India's future. The country is
expected to lead in artificial intelligence, contributing significantly to
a global AI economy projected to exceed $15 trillion by 2050. AI-
driven systems will revolutionize healthcare, agriculture, and
education, with precision farming increasing crop yields by over 50%
and personalized medicine improving health outcomes. India will also
lead the world in quantum computing, robotics, and nanotechnology
breakthroughs that will revolutionize communication, automation, and
materials science. Politically, India will emerge as a major power in
global governance. Being a permanent member of the United Nations
Security Council by mid-century, India will speak for the developing
world and promote a new, just international order. Indian leadership in
climate diplomacy will shape global action to combat climate change,
while its partnerships in Asia, Africa, and Latin America will
strengthen South-South cooperation. By addressing the challenges of
climate change, resource scarcity, and inequality through
technological and diplomatic means, India's rise by 2050 will
exemplify the transformative power of innovation, sustainability, and
global leadership in an interconnected world. India will emerge as the
most advanced country and will occupy a major role in the politics of
the world.
