HOW THE TEAM PROJECT WORKS?
➢ Team selects a topic from the list and identify a relevant
local issue
➢ Research into the topic and different perspectives on the
local issue
➢ Each team member researches on a different perspective
➢ Based on research and discussions, team decides on a
course of action that might address the issue
➢ Team plans and carries out the action
➢ Measure their success of their action in addressing the issue
➢ Team collaborates to produce a planning document-
explanation of research and evidence
➢ They collaborate and produce the evidence of action

Team element: 25 marks
o Explanation of research and planning – 10
marks
o Evidence of action – 5 marks
o Collaboration – 10 marks
Personal element: Reflective paper – 45 marks
The explanation of research and
planning- 10 marks- 300-400 words
• The team should have the clarity of the topic, the issue
and the action the team will take based on research
• Outline their plan of action
• Identify the roles and responsibilities of the team members
• State how they will evidence the action
• Identify how they will measure the success of their action
• When the team completes the project, they must
identify and explain any changes they have made
• (All the team members will be awarded the same marks)
CRITERIA TO SCORE 10 MARKS IN THIS
ELEMENT- A: Explanation of research and
planning
• Clear identification of the topic and issue – 2
marks
• Plan- 3 marks- it should be clear and includes
sufficient details of how the action will be
evidenced and its success will be measured.
• Roles- 2marks- clear identification of the
roles and responsibilities of each team member
• Action: 3 marks – a clear summary of the action
the team will take to address the issue
ELEMENT B: Evidence of action – 5 marks
• Team produces an evidence of action to show what
they have done
• It can be any appropriate form such as posters,
leaflets, webpages, videos(10 mins max),
presentations or photographs of an event
• It should be something that has been produced
during the action, not the research or initial
meetings to discuss the project.
• (All the team members will be awarded the same
marks)

ELEMENT- B:
• The team have undertaken and action that is
very likely to make a positive difference to the
issue and action was carried out very well

F- Reflection on learning in the reflective

influenced by research and different perspectives explored
• Learning about own skills, strengths, weakness- 5 marks-
Detailed and explicit reflection on what they have learnt
about their own skills through participating in the team

G- Reflection on teamwork in the

completing the team project

H- Communication in the reflective

Component 2- Individual report- 60 marks- 1500-2000 words.
Skills : Research, analysis, evaluation, reflection
and communication.
• Introduction: The essay should start by explaining the issue researched so that it has
clear global impact, different impacts on different people and different places. It
should contain different perspectives not opposing but clearly different.
• Causes and consequences: Should be presented and analyzed in depth.
• Different courses of action should be considered, and one chosen as the most
appropriate or effective. The course of action to be described in detail and how it could
be implemented and what impact would be.
• Evaluation of the evidence presented and their sources, explaining their value to
the research and whether the sources are reliable and credible
• Reflection on the whole issue- reflect the research finding, learning and others'
perspectives.
• Conclusion: Conclude by answering the question.
Criteria for scoring in Individual
report:
• AO1- analyzing a global issue: Analyzing a global
issue, establishing the global nature of the issue and
presenting relevant supporting information and
explanation - 5marks
• Analyzes the global issue ,explaining the causes
and consequences in depth – 5 marks
• Analyzes different perspectives on a global issue:
Presents and explains one global and one
national/local perspective on the selected global
issue, supporting with relevant information -
10 Marks
• Analyzes and evaluates possible courses of action-
presents two possible relevant courses of action, giving
appropriate details of implementation and evaluates in
detail their practicability and possible impact. Selects a
preferred option and justifies the selection with reference to
the analysis of the issue - 10marks
• Evaluation of evidence and sources – make four
appropriate and developed points of evaluation, presented
and make sources used, explaining their impact on
the research and the argument- 10marks
• AO2 - Reflection -Answers the questions reflecting on how
their perspective has been impacted by research, learning
and others' perspectives- 5 marks
• AO3- structure and clarity - The report is well structured,
clear, easy to follow and cohesive - 10 marks
• A03- referencing- Citation and referencing are complete. A
consistent method is used. The links between citations and
references are clear – 5 marks
Component 1- Written assessment- 70 marks-
1 hour 25 minutes. Skills: Research, analysis and
evaluation
• Written exam is based on any global issue from the topics list.
• It contains 4 compulsory questions.
• Question 1: 18 marks- there will be 3 to 4 parts of the
question. Criteria: Reading the sources, analyzing the information,
arguments and perspectives presented about the global issue.
• Question 2 :16 marks- based on research or evidence about the
global issue. Two parts of the question - Criteria: evaluate the
research or evidence and suggest ways to research or test a
claim related to the global issue
• Question 3: 16 marks- based on
the arguments on the global issue- candidates
write an extended response- Criteria: To
analyze and evaluate the arguments and make
a reasoned judgement about the quality of the
arguments.
• Question 4: 20 marks – candidates write
an extended response based on all the sources
provided - Criteria: assess the actions in
response to the global issue and
explain their judgements with reasons
and evidence.
