What is a real friend? A real friend is the one who walks in when the whole world walks out. A real
friend is the one who hates getting wet but will definitely go through the storm with you. A real friend
is the one who is always close to your heart even if you are thousands of miles apart.

Friends are important in our life. As the old Chinese saying goes, friends are the mirror in our
life. In other words, true friends will give us a reality check. They will bring the harsh truth in front of
us so that we will not repeat the same mistakes in the future. For example, a real friend will not hesitate
to point out the flaws in our personality so that we can be a better person in the long run.

We should treat our friends like how we would like to be treated. First, we should accept our
friends for who they are. We need to realize the fact that no one is perfect in this world. Hence, we have
to be tolerant when conflicts happen. After all, a real friendship is the one that can withstand the ups
and downs in life. In addition, we must respect the privacy of our friends. There are things that we can
share with others and there are things that we should keep to ourselves. As a result, we must not force
our friends to share their secrets with us if they are uncomfortable with it. In brief, real friends are the
people who love us as much as our family members. Therefore, we must appreciate them in our life.
