From past experience (work, education, or personal hobbies),
what have you learned that could be useful and applicable to a
role in sales?
In my previous roles, particularly as a Marketing Assistant at Kore Voyages
and in customer-facing positions like FOH at Rio Steakhouse, I developed
skills that would be highly applicable to a sales role. For instance, my
experience with upselling and engaging customers contributed to a
significant increase in sales, which taught me the importance of
understanding customer needs and building relationships. I also honed my
ability to effectively communicate value, an essential skill in sales,
through various channels such as social media and direct customer
interactions. Furthermore, working on consulting projects during my MSc
in Strategic Marketing equipped me with strategic thinking and data-
driven decision-making skills, which I can leverage to analyze market
trends, anticipate client needs, and tailor my sales approach to achieve
targets.

What truly motivates me is the pursuit of measurable achievements and
the opportunity to contribute to something impactful. I thrive in
environments where I can set goals and track my progress, whether it's
achieving a sales target or seeing the results of a project. I am also
motivated by the chance to build meaningful relationships with clients,
understanding their needs and helping them succeed through tailored
solutions. For example, in my role as a Procurement Assistant, I was driven
by the satisfaction of building and maintaining positive supplier
relationships, which required proactive problem-solving and consistent
communication. This aligns well with Softcat's approach to nurturing client
relationships and continuously adding value, which I find incredibly
rewarding and motivating.
