Pre - Work

Case 1: Rajesh is in the second year of his job at a known multinational company.
He was selected in a campus recruitment drive because of his good academic
record. However, his first year at the organisation turned out to be a
disappointment. He felt uncomfortable around his colleagues who came from all
parts of the world. He would feel inferior because of his strong vernacular accent
in his spoken English. He would feel that others would make fun of him if he spoke
up. So, he would keep to himself and felt quite lonely. His direct project lead told
him, “This is not college anymore. Learn to be a professional”.

Case 2: Aswathi is in the fourth year of her professional career. Due to a market
downturn, her entire business unit was asked to reskill themselves and apply for a
new role in data sciences for another client. Aswathi took up relevant courses for
the new technology, but when she applied for a senior role, which required her to
interact with global clients, the recruitment manager said: “You need to improve
on your networking and collaboration skills with all the departments. Your coding
skills are not enough for this role”.

Case 3: Tarun has recently been promoted to a managerial position. One day, his
boss calls him and says, “We have a leadership meeting next month where we will
discuss new product ideas. Why don’t you pitch your idea to build a
mobile-app-based education solution, which you spoke to me about?” Tarun gets
excited at the opportunity and works very hard on his product presentation. On
the D-day, as he is presenting, he feels extremely nervous as the CEO himself was
present, along with the company’s top brass. He begins to mumble and is more
than sure his product proposal would get rejected.

Answer these questions -
