1) Company’s Overview:
Progistix Solutions Inc. founded in 1996 is a well-known logistics and supply chain
management firm in Canada, specializing in storage, distribution, transportation, and value-
added services. It is one of the leading logistic solutions providers in Ontario, Canada.
Progistix is a third-party logistics company working for Bell headquartered in Mississauga,
Ontario.
The company provides effective and customized solutions to clients in a variety of sectors by
focusing on technology, industry understanding, and customer satisfaction. In addition to its
basic logistics services, Progistix also offers customized solutions to fulfil the specific
demands of the customers. This includes specialized transportation Services for massive or
fragile commodities, as well as value-added services like examining, testing, manufacturing,
and repairing.
The company is also trying to implement Eco-friendly practices, such as energy-efficient
warehouse operations, trash reduction, and recycling programs. Throughout its supply chain,
Progistix continually adapts different and unique ways to minimize emissions and promote
overall sustainability. The company employs transportation management systems (TMS) and
warehouse management systems (WMS) in order to monitor shipments and keep track of
stocks and improve the overall efficiency of the supply chain.
To increase operational efficiency and meet the evolving needs of its clients, the business is
also consistently investing in cutting-edge technology including automated systems, robotics,
and data analytics. For reliable logistical operations, the warehouses are built with innovative
equipment and technologies. The company's wide coverage enables them to offer services to

its clients across the whole nation.
2) Job Title: Material Handler
Job description:
I have been assigned the responsibility to handle the process for returning IPTV and modems
that belong to the Bell business. Progistix returns division is incharge of managing the whole
customer return procedure. The returns department investigates and determines if valid
requests to return products are made by customers. The company's return operations must be
efficient and productive in order to satisfy customers, comply with regulations and guidelines
set by the industry, and ensure that the organization's return procedures are legal.
When an item is returned, the returns department properly inspects it. All returned items are
examined to see if, given their condition, they can be resold to a different customer. We must
inspect the returned goods for any type of deterioration, wear, and tear, and whether any parts
are missing, damaged, or not. After a thorough inspection, the returns department scans the
product's serial number and MAC Id in SAP to determine if the product is original or a
duplicate copy. If the goods are original, then the company issues a refund to the customers if
the products are resaleable.
Functions:
One of the most important functions of our department is to manage the inventory level of the
returned items like modems, IPTV, and Routers from the customers. Inspecting all the returned
products like modems and IPTV to see whether they are genuine. Any signs of damage to the
product should not be snagged or duplicated. Differentiate all the genuine items from snag or

duplicate ones. Proper communication with the team members and other departments like
customer service, financial department, warehouse staff, logistics department, quality control
department and many more to make the whole return process swift.
Organization of the department
The overall responsibility of the return department is to make the return process for the
customer easy and fast, properly scanning all the returned items. The task of managing the
entire procedure for customer returns falls under the responsibility of the returns department.
It reviews return requests, approves genuine returns, checks the suitability of the returned
goods for resale, and handles refunds, repairs, and replacements as necessary. Competency
with barcode scanners is required to precisely monitor and scan returned products, allowing
for effective inventory management and fast processing. Attention to information is required
to thoroughly investigate return requests to confirm the authenticity of the returned products
from the customers. This ability allows us to detect any problems or errors while
guaranteeing the return procedure is swift and perfect. To ensure proper tracking and
transparency of goods that are returned, the department processes return using SAP software.
3) Implementation of my course Learning in My Current Position ( Two Examples)
3.1 The crucial role of accurate management and visibility in logistics operations became clear to
me throughout the courses I took in the Supply Chain Management programme. I have been
successful in using the SAP software to scan and monitor returned items by applying the
knowledge I've gained. Because of this, our return processing is now much more accurate and
effective. I was able to predict future inventory needs for returned goods, evaluate historical

return statistics, and plan ahead for return processing because of my knowledge of inventory
management.
3.2 The reverse logistics principles I gained helped me to understand the complete return
process, from receiving returned things to their correct disposition, whether through refurbishing
for resale, repair, or proper garbage disposal. The effective handling of returned items, which
maximised resource use and customer satisfaction was made possible by this information. I
learned about the procedures for client returns and the standards of quality in the logistics sector
through my programme. In order to improve customer happiness, I was able to identify areas
where our return policies needed improvement. I've been able to offer changes to further simplify
the returns process by researching consumer return trends, patterns, and frequent complaints.
4) Challenges I Faced and How I Overcame Them
4.1) The large number of returned things during the busiest times was one of the difficulties I
faced. To get around this, I effectively selected activities and enhanced my time management
abilities. Along with working closely together, my team and I were able to manage the extra task
more efficiently. It was difficult to recognise and manage returned goods with a range of issues.
To avoid this, I put in place a strict quality control procedure, carefully examining all returned
product, and classifying it for further action. This method reduced the possibility of reselling
defective products and increased client satisfaction.
4.2) Dealing with complicated return circumstances that required extra investigation and analysis
was another difficulty. I aggressively asked for advice from my boss and more seasoned
coworkers to deal with this. I was able to benefit from their knowledge and become better
prepared to manage such situations in the future. There were interactions between numerous

departments and stakeholders during the return procedure. I started regular team meetings and
briefings to guarantee efficient communication and collaboration, which helps to improve the
return handling procedure, decreased delays, and increased overall efficiency.
5) Career Path and Future Aspirations:
My long-term goal is to enhance my career in the supply chain and logistics sector after finishing
my supply chain management programme and obtaining useful practical experience through CO
OP by working at Progistix Solution, Inc. I want to work in positions with more important duties,
like supply chain analyst, supply chain manager or logistics coordinator. I am confident in my
capacity to contribute significantly to the improvement of supply chain operations and the
offering of excellent logistics solutions of any company which I’m going to join in the
future thanks to the skills and information I learned throughout my CO OP at Progistix Solutions.
Overall, working with Progistix prepared me to excel in the dynamic and demanding sector of
supply chain management thanks to the skills I've acquired, including inventory management,
problem-solving skills, innovative strategies, knowledge of SAP software, and efficient
communications skills. My co-op experiences and the information I've acquired via the
programme will undoubtedly pave the path for an exciting future in the logistics sector.
