1.1 About Project
In order to teach participants from DITEC Batch 26 Diploma students how to make money using
social media platforms, our team planned a session on "Social Media Earning." The purpose of the
event, which was held on September 12, 2024, was to give participants useful advice on how to
make money from their internet presence. With 15 individuals, we assigned duties effectively using
project management concepts like Belbin's Team Role Theory, guaranteeing a seamless workflow
from preparation to execution.
Since social media has developed into an important business tool in the modern era, our goal was to
close the knowledge gap for students who were interested in the subject but lacked expertise. We
focused on a range of revenue-generating strategies, such as product promotions, influencer
collaborations, affiliate marketing, and content production. Building a personal brand on social
media sites like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok was one of the topics discussed. Other
topics included audience engagement tactics, content optimization through algorithm knowledge,
and leveraging analytics to increase visibility.
We faced difficulties including participants' different levels of social media experience and
technological problems with multimedia material compatibility, even with the careful preparation.
In order to adjust to these problems in real time and guarantee a flawless event experience, effective
communication and teamwork were essential. According to the encouraging comments, the class
was well received, and attendees came away knowing exactly how to use social media to generate
revenue.
Every team member had specific tasks and duties that matched their abilities, which helped the
event be delivered successfully:

After nine years of intensive research to determine how team dynamics might be improved for
success, Dr. Meredith Belbin created Belbin's Team Roles in 1981. Belbin distinguished nine roles
—which fall into three categories: action-oriented, people-oriented, and intellectual roles—that
people in teams naturally take on. Every role makes a unique contribution to the performance and
operation of the team. The completion and quality of tasks are the main concerns of action-oriented
positions such as Shaper, Implementer, and Completer Finisher. Coordinator, Team Worker, and
Resource Investigator are examples of people-oriented positions that improve team cohesion,
motivation, and communication. Finally, the intellectual positions of Specialist, Monitor Evaluator,
and Plant are essential for creativity, critical thinking, and subject-matter knowledge.
Belbin's thesis has been criticized for oversimplifying individual skills and inclinations, but it does
provide useful insights into a team's strengths and limitations. This knowledge enables teams to
Professional Practice 25
capitalize on each member's individual strengths, allocate duties effectively, and maintain a
balanced approach to goal achievement. When implemented correctly, Belbin's roles can highlight
how each member can best contribute to collective success, resulting in a more harmonious and
productive workplace. (.indeed, 2024)

The effect of poor time management
Due to poor time management, we won’t be able to complete our works on or before the given
deadlines. This would increase our stress level and also, we would miss great opportunities, where
we won’t be able to achieve our goals. When we don’t work according to a time management then
our quality of the work won’t be sufficient enough and mistake would be made. So, everyone should
make should they implement time management skills in their daily work life.
Verbal communication
Verbal communication refers to the transmission of messages via spoken or written language. It can
happen in real-time interactions, presentations, or in written forms such as emails and reports.
Verbal communication has the advantage of accelerating information exchange, providing
reliability, and allowing for instant feedback. However, it does have negatives, such as the
possibility of misunderstandings or misinterpretations, especially in lengthy texts. In our
conversations, using verbal communication tactics allowed for quick clarification of concepts and
strategies, ensuring that everyone was on the same page.
Professional Practice 29
Figure 3/ class discussion 2
Professional Practice 30
Figure 5/ class discussion 4
Nonverbal communication
Nonverbal communication is the transmission of messages without using spoken or written
language. This include body language, eye contact, gestures, posture, and facial expressions.
Nonverbal cues can successfully transmit emotions and attitudes, frequently supplementing the
spoken word. Its benefits come from its simplicity and ease of comprehension, which can save time
and prevent misinterpretation. In a professional setting, being aware of nonverbal cues helps
measure reactions and establish rapport, which is critical for effective teamwork and relationship
building.
Electronic communication
Electronic communication methods, such as social media, email, and video conferencing, have
grown in popularity as technology has advanced. These innovations have revolutionized our ability
to connect, dramatically eliminating time and space obstacles. The benefits of electronic
communication include cost-effectiveness, instant availability, and ease of information sharing.
However, it does present certain issues, including security concerns, potential technical difficulties,
and the danger of misunderstandings due to a lack of personal interaction. Overall, mastering
multiple forms of communication—verbal, nonverbal, and electronic—is critical for effective
interpersonal interactions in today's changing society.

2.1 Problem solving
What is problem solving?
The process of describing an issue identifying its cause, and putting a solution into action is what is
meant by problem-solving. The ability of people to influence our environment through finding
solutions at the basic concept of problem-solving. Life gets advance when we solve our issues and
we make decision. (kaplan, march 03, 2023)
Identify the problem: we focus more on the problems effect than the actual problem. We must be
able to identify the problem not the effect.
- Define the problem: we need to find out the root cause of this problem.
- Find alternative solutions: see what has made it a problem and cause for it in a proper order so
that it will easy to find solutions.
- Evaluate the result: once u find a solution and execute it you need to know whether was it the
best solution found, has it been solved know.

necessitate adherence to specified techniques and principles in order to enhance idea development.
To optimize this strategy, provide a supportive environment that encourages participation from all
members while allowing for separate thought. Setting time limitations and providing prompts can
improve the brainstorming session. Finally, successful brainstorming can result in the discovery of
novel solutions and a larger pool of ideas for future project development. (IED team, 8 octorber
2020)
Swot analysis
A SWOT analysis is a strategic planning tool that assesses an organization's strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats. This framework is frequently used by a variety of organizations, from
small firms to huge corporations, to evaluate their current condition and develop future goals.
SWOT is an abbreviation for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. Strengths are
internal characteristics that offer an organization a competitive advantage, whereas weaknesses are
internal elements that may impede performance. Opportunities are external variables that the
organization can use to expand and succeed, whereas dangers are external difficulties that may harm
the organization. A SWOT analysis gives useful insights into areas for improvement, helping
businesses to leverage their strengths and opportunities while addressing their weaknesses and
managing threats. This process promotes informed decision-making, improves strategic planning,
and encourages team collaboration because it frequently involves input from multiple stakeholders
to generate a thorough picture of the organization's situation. (kenton, june 19, 2023)
Professional Practice 54
Why method
The Five Whys method is a problem-solving methodology that involves frequently asking the
question "Why?" This strategy is especially useful in complicated systems where several elements
can contribute to an issue. Teams can find key problems that may go unnoticed if they break down
an issue into smaller components and investigate the underlying causes. The key advantage of the
Five Whys technique is that it focuses on identifying practical solutions by addressing the root
problems rather than transient fixes. This technique promotes a culture of continuous improvement
by encouraging teams to conduct deeper analysis and learning. For example, if a team encounters
difficulties with teamwork, they may question why team members are not actively involved. This
inquiry can provide information about commitment levels, knowledge gaps, and unfamiliarity with
the project, ultimately guiding the team to effective solutions. This strategy enables groups to
streamline their problem-solving efforts, increase productivity, and minimize reoccurring
challenges. (tulip, n.d.)
Professional Practice 55
Drill down method
The Drill Down method is an organized approach to problem resolution that entails breaking down
large challenges into smaller, more manageable components for study. This technique enables teams
to investigate many aspects of a problem, resulting in a better understanding of its components and
their relationships. By focusing on specific parts of a problem, teams can find root causes, trends,
and potential areas for improvement. This strategy is especially useful when dealing with complex
situations since it promotes deep study and analysis rather than superficial treatment. The method
often begins with a large topic or issue and then gradually breaks it down into sub-questions or
components, each of which can be investigated further. This strategy not only helps to discover
underlying difficulties, but it also encourages team members' collaboration and communication as
they work together to complete the analysis. Using the Drill Down method, teams may create
specific solutions that address the complexities of a problem, resulting in more effective decision-
making and strategic planning.
Professional Practice 56
Ideal method
The Ideal method is a problem-solving technique that encourages teams to imagine the finest
possible outcome or solution to a given difficulty. This strategy encourages creativity and invention
by challenging individuals to think beyond their existing restrictions and envision what an ideal
world would be like. Focusing on an ideal solution allows teams to identify critical traits and factors
that lead to success, ultimately steering their problem-solving efforts in a positive direction. This
method frequently includes brainstorming sessions in which participants are encouraged to express
their ideal situations freely, establishing an environment of open debate and creative thought. Once
an ideal vision has been defined, teams can work backward to determine the processes, resources,
and tactics needed to accomplish it. This strategy not only improves it boost team spirit, but it also
sets a clear goal for problem solving. Using the Ideal technique, companies can build a forward-
thinking mindset that encourages creativity and collaborative efforts to achieve excellence in their
projects and activities.
Professional Practice 57
Table 9 SWOT Analysis table
CPA is based on the Critical Path Method (CPM), which was created in the 1950s. It entails
breaking down a project into smaller, manageable tasks, developing a network diagram that depicts
the relationships between these activities, and identifying the critical path. The critical path includes
tasks that must be performed on time; any delays in these jobs will surely push back the project's
overall deadline.
Identifying the critical path allows project managers to prioritize these critical tasks, allocate
Professional Practice 58
resources effectively, and adjust the project plan as needed. Furthermore, CPA assists managers in
determining whether particular jobs may be delayed without hurting the project's timeline, allowing
them to make educated judgments regarding balancing cost, time, and scope. (Team Asana, 2024)
Create a network diagram: That demonstrates the tasks, their relationships, and associated
timeframes. This diagram helps to identify both critical path and non-critical jobs.
Monitor Progress: Continuously update the project plan and alter resource allocation as needed to
keep the critical path on track.
Determine Dependencies: Examine the relationships between each activity to determine which
actions must be performed before the others may begin.
Identify Tasks and Activities: Create a detailed list of all tasks and activities required for project
completion.
Allocate Resources: Assign suitable resources to jobs on the critical path to ensure timely
completion.
Estimate Duration: Determine the time required to accomplish each indicated task and activity.
By following these procedures, project teams can effectively use CPA to assure project success and
timely completion.

problem-solving. Furthermore, positive team dynamics promote trust and respect while also
encouraging personal growth because team members feel appreciated and supported. This
combination not only increases team togetherness, but also aids in the effective execution of
common goals.
Trust: Trust is essential for effective team interactions. When team members trust one another, they
are confident in their ability to fulfill goals, perform their duties efficiently, and communicate
honestly.
Roles and Responsibilities: Clear roles and responsibilities help team members understand their
respective activities and contributions, resulting in more effective teamwork. Defined
responsibilities also help to reduce overlaps and ensure accountability.
Leadership: Strong leadership is required to guide the team towards its goals. A skilled leader builds
trust, handles problems, and keeps the team engaged, improving overall cohesion and productivity.
Conflict: Conflict, while a normal part of team dynamics, may be both beneficial and damaging.
Positive conflict can boost creativity and decision-making, whereas unresolved bad conflict can
harm relationships and impede performance.
Cohesion: Cohesion occurs when team members have common goals, respect one another, and bond
via shared experiences. A cohesive team is more likely to work well together, keep morale high, and
achieve its goals.
Understanding and creating these characteristics within a team can considerably increase its chances
of success, allowing it to deal with problems and fulfill collective goals more effectively.

4.1 What is CPD?
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an ongoing process that extends beyond initial
training and includes the recording and application of gained skills and information. This
methodical strategy guarantees that professional skills and abilities remain relevant, allowing them
to keep up with industry trends, standards, and best practices. CPD is applicable at all phases of a
career and provides opportunities for improvement regardless of age, background, or educational
level. (Johnston, n.d.)
CPD is essential for both personal and professional improvement. It promotes knowledge
enrichment by keeping professionals informed about industry innovations, ensuring their
competence in a competitive work market. CPD promotes skill enhancement through targeted
training and workshops, which is an important component in achieving professional success.
Another significant advantage of CPD is adaptability; in fast changing industries, it allows
professionals to embrace change and adapt to new norms or practices. CPD encourages individuals
to evaluate their own skills and discover areas for growth, hence increasing self-awareness and
development. Collaboration is also important, as CPD activities frequently give networking
opportunities for professionals to share knowledge and viewpoints, resulting in specialized insights
that improve their capabilities.

Motivational theories play a significant role in understanding and improving workplace
performance. Here's a simplified summary of four prominent motivational theories and their
impact on employee productivity:
Motivational theories aid in increasing workplace efficiency by emphasizing how employee
motivation effects performance. Here's an outline of four major motivational theories and how they
relate to workplace dynamics:
Maslow's Hierarchy of wants proposes that humans are driven by a hierarchy of wants that begins
with fundamental physiological demands and progresses to higher goals, such as self-actualization.
Managers should prioritize meeting lower-level demands, such as safety and a sense of belonging,
before focusing on higher-level motivators, such as recognition or prospects for progress. By
addressing demands in this order, managers foster an environment that supports innovation and
overall employee development.
Herzberg's Two Factor Theory: Herzberg's paradigm separates motivational variables into two
categories: hygienic factors and motivators. Hygiene elements reduce unhappiness, whereas
motivators increase job satisfaction and self-motivation. Managers should concentrate on the latter
category, ensuring that employees have difficult work, are recognized for their achievements, and
are satisfied in their employment. This emphasis on motivators increases job happiness, which
improves performance.
Alderfer’s ERG Theory: According to Alderfer, employees have three basic needs: existence,
relatedness, and growth. If higher-level wants are unmet, people may shift their attention to more
immediate lower-level demands. Managers can increase performance by meeting three needs:
providing competitive compensation for existence, cultivating positive relationships for relatedness,
and encouraging possibilities for progress. This personalized strategy can boost motivation and
productivity by recognizing the mobility of needs.
McClelland's Theory of Needs emphasizes three primary motivators: achievement, affiliation, and
power. Managers can build tailored motivational techniques by knowing their individual drives.
Individuals with a strong need for achievement, for example, may excel in professions that need
teamwork. Those seeking power may be driven by leadership chances, which can increase
productivity and engagement.
Professional Practice 67
These motivational theories provide frameworks for understanding human motivation, allowing
managers to gain insights into improving employee performance. Managers build a highly
productive workforce by tailoring their approach to individual motivations. However, it is crucial to
remain adaptable, because each employee's motivational factors can change depending on their
circumstances and preferences. (sujan, june 24,2023)
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory, and Alderfer's ERG Theory provide
different perspectives on motivation. Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs emphasizes an organized
hierarchy, with individuals moving through five levels: physiological, safety, love/belonging,
esteem, and self-actualization. According to Maslow, this progression is rigorous; lower
requirements must be addressed before moving on to greater goals. In contrast, Herzberg's Two-
Factor Theory divides motivation into two categories: motivators that contribute to job satisfaction
and hygiene elements that prevent unhappiness. Unlike Maslow's hierarchy, Herzberg's approach
allows for greater flexibility, as hygiene aspects are required to avoid discontent but do not
immediately improve motivation or drive performance. Finally, Alderfer's ERG Theory divides
need into three categories: existence, relatedness, and growth, emphasizing the dynamic interaction
between these needs. ERG theory is particularly adaptable to individual differences because it
allows for adjustments in priority between unmet higher and lower wants. (CFI, 29.03.2023)
Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, Herzberg's Two-Factor Theory, and Alderfer's ERG Theory all
investigate the factors that drive job satisfaction and motivation. Each paradigm categorizes
requirements or components hierarchically and acknowledges the importance of serving basic needs
before addressing more complicated ones. These theories are frequently used in psychology, human
resources, and organizational behavior because they provide systematic approaches to
understanding and improving motivation in the workplace.

Motivation and CPD:
CPD improves workplace motivation in several ways:
Recognition and Career Advancement: CPD frequently includes obtaining new qualifications or
training, which can lead to recognition and advancement prospects. This is a crucial motivator for
employees seeking career advancement and recognition.
CPD emphasizes skill development, which fosters a sense of success and maintains the need for
ongoing learning, further driving personnel.
Adaptation to Change: CPD keeps individuals updated about industry changes, lowering uncertainty
and increasing motivation by giving employees the confidence to face new challenges.
Purpose and Growth: CPD promotes personal development and provides a sense of purpose, which
is essential for maintaining motivation and attaining professional success. Setting personal
development goals through CPD helps employees feel fulfilled and motivated to perform better.
Finally, CPD plays an important role in keeping employees motivated. It not only promotes
professional growth and skill development, but it also addresses basic human motivators, sustaining
a sense of purpose and engagement. CPD encourages professionals to pursue lifelong learning and
skill enhancement, resulting in increased job satisfaction, performance, and personal fulfillment.

There are various reasons why Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is important in the
workplace. First, it allows workers to stay up to date on the newest trends and best practices in their
sector, ensuring their job market competitiveness. Employees who participate in CPD programs
obtain vital knowledge and skills that help them perform better at work, resulting in higher output,
quality, and effectiveness. Furthermore, CPD promotes professional advancement by providing
employees with new skills and talents, which can lead to higher pay, promotions, and overall job
satisfaction.
A well-developed CPD strategy can boost team members' motivation by giving them opportunities
to improve their knowledge, skills, and capabilities. This strategy may include training on conflict
resolution, time management, and emotional intelligence, which will assist team members develop
their interpersonal skills and maintain a healthy work-life balance. Furthermore, providing training

in project management, public speaking, and creativity recognizes employees' skills, making them
feel valued, and motivating them to contribute to the team's success.
Furthermore, the CPD strategy helps foster a positive workplace culture by providing opportunities
for collaboration and communication. A supportive workplace culture develops a sense of belonging
among employees, encouraging them to collaborate and strive for common goals. Finally, a targeted
CPD project can improve both individual and team performance, resulting in a more engaged and
productive workplace. (Indeed Editiorial team, 2023)
