ASSIGNMENT QUESTIONS
1. How can understanding the principles of memory and forgetting support your learning journey?
Based on what you've learned in your module, what strategies do you use to minimize forgetting and
improve your retention of the information? [2pts]
2. Discuss the concept of motivation and analyze the differences between intrinsic and extrinsic
motivation. Provide real-world examples where each type of motivation might be more effective
and explain why.[2pts]
3. Revise and discuss the core assumptions of psychoanalytic, behavioral, and humanistic
personality theories. How well do these theories developed primarily within ‘Western individualistic
cultures’ explain the development of personality within your own cultural context? Provide specific
examples.[2pt]
4. Compare and contrast the James-Lange, Cannon-Bard, and Schachter-Singer two-factor
theories of emotion. Choose an emotional scenario, such as the fear of public speaking, a close
encounter with a snake, or any other situation of your choice, and explain how each theory elucidates
the sequence of responses that lead to that emotion.[2pt]
5. Examine how the psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive, biological, humanistic, and
sociocultural perspectives differ in their understanding of the causes of psychological disorders.
