1. Alumni Meet

Description: Alumni meet is a gathering of passed out students of an institution.


Institutions can reconnect with their alumni for numerous reasons by hosting
perfect occasions and events. On the occasion of Alumni meet the alumni
community and share their experiences which they had faced after leaving the
institution.

1. Teacher’s Day

Description: Teaching is the most influential job in the world. Teachers are known
to shape the mind of youth and without knowledge no one can exist in this world.
Teachers impart good value in children and turn them into responsible citizens. So,
almost every country celebrates Teacher's Day.

2. Engineers’ Day ( Project competition)

Description: The birth anniversary of Sir M Visvesvaraya has been celebrated as


Engineer's Day since 1968 as a tribute to the great engineer who helped in building
some of the architectural marvels including Krishna Raja Sagar dam in Karnataka.
So, on this occasion we are going to organize a project competition in which we,
“engineers” can put our skill set and create devices, softwares or circuits .
Steps of conduction || Rules:

1. Every team will have a different table on which their project will be placed
from the presentation.
2. Every team will get 10 mins for their presentation to the judges (from our
faculty).
3. There will be : 10 marks for Project, 10 marks for Presentation, 10 marks for
Working of the project
4. Total score will be calculated by taking the average of the above three.

4. Industrial Visit

Description: The students will learn about the latest technology trends and get
familiarized with the workplace by seeing the actual working of machineries.
Students will also enjoy the atmosphere of the industry which will build their
interest to gain more knowledge about the industrial devices.

1. Every student has to be in formals to look sober in the industry.


2. College buses will provide the transportation from college to industry and
from industry to college also.
3. Every student has to be disciplined in the industry and has to follow all the
instructions given by your industrial coordinator.
4. Students are advised to gain some knowledge about some industrial
instruments of the industry where you are going to visit for better
understanding during the visit.
5. After returning to college , the visiting students will gather in the class and
everyone has to speak for minimum 2 in front of the teachers regarding their
visit.

5. Chess Competition

Description: A chess tournament is a series of chess games played competitively


to determine a winning individual or team. It is played by two opponents on a
checkerboard with specially designed pieces of contrasting colors, commonly
white and black. The objective of the game is to capture the opponent's king.

Steps of conduction || Rules:

1. Players are not required to write down their moves.


2. Players are responsible to be ready to play at the beginning of a round and
are expected to be within a reasonable range of the playing area and pay
attention for when their group is called to play.
3. If a player has any questions concerning the rules, they may raise their hand
and talk to a tournament official. In case of any dispute or claim, stop the
clocks and summon a tournament official. Any decision by a tournament
official may be appealed, if done immediately.
4. Only the two players in a game may make claims concerning their game.
5. Players may only leave the playing area during a game with the permission
of a tournament official. Players may not speak with spectators during their
game, even if they are permitted to leave the playing area.
6. It is forbidden for players to have cell phones, or other electronic
communication, computer, or media devices in the playing area.

6. Public Speaking

Description: The Public Speaking Competition is designed to highlight students


who demonstrate these qualities by combining thoughtful preparation and
confident delivery into an interesting presentation on a current education topic.
Public speaking competitions challenge people to perform both prepared and
unprepared speeches on certain topics.

Steps of conduction || Rules:

1. Students should speak on the given particular topic for At Least 7-8 minutes.
2. During the speech no student is allowed to carry any kind of paper material
or electronic gadget
3. The judging will be based on:- Innovation in the content of the topic
a. Voice modulation.
b. Gestures and postures.
4. Topic of Public speaking must be informative.

7. Group Discussion

Description: Group discussion (GD) is a comprehensive technique to judge the


suitability of an individual and his appropriateness for admission, scholarship, job,
etc. GD assesses the overall personality – thoughts, feelings and behavior - of an
individual in a group. A topic is presented to the group members for discussion.
While the discussion is going on, a group of panelists observe them. Through this
observation they judge intellectual, social, leadership, communicative skills of
candidates taking part in the GD.

1. Listen respectfully, without interrupting.
2. Listen actively and with an ear to understanding others’ views. Criticize
ideas, not individuals.
3. Avoid blame, speculation, and inflammatory language.
4. Allow everyone the chance to speak.
5. Avoid assumptions about any member of the class or generalizations about
social groups. Do not ask individuals to speak for their (perceived) social
group.
6. We are accountable for our words and their impact.
7. Personal information that comes up in the conversation should be kept
confidential.

8. Expert Lecture (Dr. Sunil Semwal)

Description: The invitation of experts as guest lecturers offers students the


opportunity to meet passionate, committed and critical people and to learn from
them in various ways. Guest lecturers provide an important educational experience
for students based on their real-world life experiences. Students get to see the
insight and perspective of the guest lecturers’ specific field. The format can enable
students to interact with professionals in formal and informal settings. Through
discussions, interpersonal competence and communicative skills are fostered.
Guests’ contributions can take the format of a single lecture, a lecture series over a
specific period or workshops.

9. QUIZ COMPETITION

Description: A quiz is a form of game or mind sport in which players attempt to


answer questions correctly about a certain or variety of subjects. Quiz Competition
can be used as a brief assessment in education and similar fields to enhance their
knowledge, abilities or skills.
Steps of conduction || Rules:

1) Minimum 3 and maximum 4 participants per team are allowed.


2) The team can discuss among themselves and then press the buzzer/bell to
answer the question first.
3) No discussion is allowed after pressing the buzzer/bell.
4) The team that presses the buzzer/bell first gets the chance to answer.
5) 10 points for correct answer.
6) Decisions made by the judges will be final and acceptable in any case.

11. Gate Coaching

Description: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a computer


based test jointly conducted by Indian Institute of science (IISc) and other seven
Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) . GATE exam is a National level test that
examines the understanding of various engineering topics. GATE scores enable
students to open the door to take admission in various prestigious PG programmes
in IITs and IISc. Not only that, GATE scores also help to get good PSU jobs.

12. Technical writing

Description: Technical writing is any type of writing that is designed to


communicate technical information. Technical writers use a variety of strategies to
make complex topics more understandable for their audience. This might involve
breaking down steps into specific instructions , using visuals to illustrate key
points. The purpose of technical writing is to explain complex information clearly,
concisely, and accurately. Ultimately the technical writing is to make the world a
little bit easier to understand.

Steps of conduction || Rules:

1. Submissions must be a minimum of 500 words. There is no maximum word


limit.
2. There would be a time limit to complete the writing.

13. Poster Competition

Description:

Poster competitions raise awareness of issues and participation programs. Posters


provide visual, colorful, simple ways to communicate community issues and
events, and are suitable for display in community spaces. Poster competitions can
generate publicity and provide information.

Steps of conduction || Rules:

1. Each participant can submit only 1 poster.


2. One must send his/her entry by giving their names to the event coordinator.
3. The poster must be made on the A3 size sheet with margins drawn with
black pen/marker.
4. Acceptable tools for drawing/painting include pencil, crayon, watercolor, oil
paint, etc. Photographs, wires, other 3D objects, print-outs won’t be
acceptable. It should be original and hand made.
5. Name and age of the participant, semester name must be clearly mentioned
on the right-hand side bottom of the sheet.
6. The theme should be the main focus of the poster.

14. Ad Mad Show

Description:

AD MAD SHOW is an ‘Advertisement Making Competition’ to showcase the


creativity in marketing products and services. The event is an opportunity to bring
out the individual and collective talent of the students participating in it. Its
objective is to acquaint the students with promotional strategies in marketing
through advertisements. It comprises humorous and conceptual ad presentations by
the students.

Steps of conduction || Rules:

1. Min 3 & max 4 participants per team are allowed


2. There should be no exposure to biases against any caste or community or
religion through your performance.
3. Use of vulgar expression and language will lead to disqualification of the
team.
4. Every group member has to actively participate in the Ad preparation
whether it is in digital form or in the drama form.
5. Decisions made by the external judge will be final and acceptable in any
cases.
6. Certificate of participation will be given to all participants.

16. ELECTRONICS OLYMPIAD

Description:

The Electronics Olympiad is an educational contest intended to spotlight students'


capability. It consists of a variety of topics related to digital and analog design .
The main aim is to identify students' capability and real potential which may help
them survive better in today's modern competitive world.
Steps of conduction || Rules:

1. Participants have to prepare from the given set of topics.


2. Each participant has to solve a set of questions at a given time.
3. No discussion is allowed during the activity.
4. Do not take any cheat sheets as it may result in disqualification.
5. Moderators can stop the participants if the time limit is exceeded.
6. Decisions made by the external judge will be final and acceptable in any
case.
7. Certificate of participation will be given to each participant.

17. Maths Magic

Description: There will be a simulation based activity to be performed on CAD


tools to generate arithmetic operations.

1. Participants have to generate a specified program on the CAD tool in the


lab.
2. Students will be selected on accuracy, time consumed and satisfactory
operation of the logic given.

19. Best out of waste

Description: The Best out of Waste simply means to make or to create innovative
and attractive things from the material we do not use anymore.

Steps of conduction || Rules:

1. Team shall consist of two-four members only.


2. Participants will be given 1 hour and 30 min. to show their creativity and 2
minutes to talk about the same.
3. The required waste material and stationery like scissor, thread, etc. should be
brought by the participants.
4. Waste material could be anything like tetra packs, bottles, newspapers, old
utensils, jute material or any second hand items that otherwise would be
thrown away.
5. The material would be rejected if not found to be a waste product or second
hand item.
6. No ready or semi-finished model or matter would be accepted from
participant in competition.
7. Participants will be judged on Creativity, Utilization of Resources, Artistic
composition & design, Eco-friendly rating, Utility of the Product and
Overall Presentation
8. No mobile or Internet means would be allowed to use at the time of
Competition.
9. The decision of the judges will be considered final and abiding.

20. Public Speaking

Description: Public speaking is when you stand before an audience and deliver a
speech on a topic. This could be at a formal or an informal occasion. For many
people, speaking in front of a large audience is a daunting task, so it is quite natural
to become very nervous. Public speaking, also called oratory or oration, has
traditionally meant the act of speaking face to face to a live audience.

1. Decide on your purpose. When you are drafting your speech, you should
know what the purpose of your speech is.
2. Practice
3. Critique your practice.
4. Know your timing.
5. Prepare the audio equipment.
6. Focus on the audience.

21. Debate Competition

Description: A debate is a discussion or structured contest about an issue or a


resolution.A formal debate involves two sides one supporting a resolution and one
opposing it.The main objective of participating in a debate competition is to
convince others about ones’s viewpoint.

1. Participants have to choose a topic from a list of predefined topics .


2. Based on the selection of topic participants have to speak in favour or
against the topic as per their interest.
3. Participants will not be allowed to read statements from any notes.
4. Facts presented in a debate must be accurate.
5. The one supporting the motion must not shift their point of view.The same
goes for the opposition who must oppose the motion completely.6) Each
participant will be given maximum 5 minutes to express their viewpoint.
6. Participants should register for the competition before the deadline.

22. Yoga Activity

Description: Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle


science .It focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body.Yoga is associated
with the culture and heritage of India.The objective of this activity is to raise
awareness about the benefits of yoga and its rich culture in India.

1. Participants have to make an informative poster highlighting the benefits of


yoga and its rich Indian culture.
2. Participants can use pencil colors ,caron colors or water colors as per their
choice.
3. The poster should be Theme based.
4. Participants are allowed to add slogans to their poster as per the theme.
5. Participants should register for the activity before the deadline.

23. Extempore

Description: An extempore speech is an impromptu speech which the candidate is

24. Coding Competition

Description: A programming competition generally involves the host presenting a


set of logical or mathematical problems, also known as puzzles, to the contestants
and contestants are required to write computer programs capable of solving each
problem.Competitive programming involves programmers competing against each
other to solve programming questions in a limited amount of time
