Daniel 7 – The prophesy of the Lion, Bear, Leopard and ….

Connecting the dots, part of the 7th chapter of Daniel and 1st horseman of Revelation: 6, is the time that
we are living in. This makes studying the chapter even more intriguing as we get to understand what
comes next…

Verse 1: In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head upon
his bed: then he wrote the dream and giving the sum of the matters.

Explanation: In the first year of the reign of King Belshazzar (meaning "Bel protect the king"), Daniel
dreamt a dream and saw visions in his dream which he wrote down. Belshazzar was the grandson
Nebuchadnezzar. By this time, Daniel was well advanced in years and was probably 60+ years old.

Verse 2: Daniel spoke and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven
was stirring up the great sea.

Explanation: In his vision he saw four winds (Hebrew – Ruwach also meaning spirits) from the four
directions causing unrest or stirring up the great sea or Mediterranean Sea. This may also mean that this
vision for the end time is occurring when the sea is disturbed maybe referring to the time in Revelation
8: 8-9.

Verse 3: And four great beasts came up from the sea, different from one another.

Explanation: This is when the dream starts getting interesting… There is no doubt that the vision
describes four world kingdoms as Daniel is specifically told that "these great beasts which are four are
four kings which shall rise out of the earth."

Verse 4: The first was like a lion and had eagle's wings. I watched until its wings were torn off. And it was
lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man's heart was given to it.

Explanation: This beast does not describe the Babylonian empire of the 5th century BC, but instead
describes Great Britain. Throughout most of its history, England has employed the crowned lion as the
official symbol of the royal families. The lion appears on almost every coat of arms in the British royal
line going back at least 700 years. Because the United States is so widely associated with the eagle. It is a
fact that the USA was formed when a war between the thirteen colonies and Britain led to them wining
the Revolutionary War and declaring independence. The irony of it is that, Britain is the biggest ally of
the USA now. Hence, it is not too difficult to associate the eagle's wings that are attached to the lion
with America. The fact that the wings were removed would clearly seem to refer to Revelation 18 and
America being end time Babylon or “Mystery Babylon” which will be torn off or destroyed.
Note: The Hebrew meaning of NASA (the space program of USA) is “to lift up, take up, carry”.

Verse 5: And, behold, another beast, a second, like a bear. And it was established on one side, and three
ribs were in its mouth between its teeth. And they said this to it, Rise up, eat much flesh.

Explanation: The bear is widely recognized as the universal symbol of Russia and her various satellite
nations during the era of the Soviet Union. Russia is stronger on one side as can be seen in its map as
most of the top cities are on one side of the nation. The verse where the bear is told to "devour much
flesh" was first fulfilled by the greatest single mass murderer in the history of planet Earth by Joseph
Stalin. He brutally executed approximately 50 million people in the evil empire that was The Soviet
Union.

Verse 6: After this I beheld and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a
fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

Explanation: It could only be Germany. The leopard / panther would probably be the best predatory
animal image of the German militarists of both world wars. As the big cat is known for speed and agility,
so was the military machine of the Weimar Republic (World War I) as well as the Wehrmacht of World
War II. The Leopard in Daniel's vision was described as "having four wings like those of a fowl" as well as
"four heads." Historical evidence suggests the forces of “The Axis” encompassing Germany, Italy, and
Japan to be the leopard with the wings of the fowl. Both Japan and Italy were active in the air war, so it's
possible this refers to Germany's two air power allies that backed Hitler in World War II. As the
remaining verse states the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it, this could most
possibly mean that the beast will have 3 other allies that will be given rulership (one of which must be
France). There will be a makeshift government that is headed by the 4 heads of the leopard and its
wings and will rule the world for a limited period till the 4th beast comes. This beat should come into rule
for a short period after the 4th horseman of Revelation: 6.

Verse 7: After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong
exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces and stamped the residue with
the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

Explanation: The beast consists of seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns based on
Revelation 13: 1 & 2 (And I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast coming up out of the sea,
having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on its heads names of blasphemy. 2
And the beast which I saw was like a leopard, and its feet were like the feet of a bear, and its mouth was
as a lion's mouth. And the dragon gave its power to it, and its throne, and great authority). The beast
will have 7 heads and 10 horns, where the number 7 represents completion or world government and
10 represents incomplete government. This beast should ideally come immediately after the leopard
and post WW3. The United Nations either in the same form or in another, IS the prophesied one world
government, so frequently mentioned in the Scriptures in the last days (Revelation 13: 1). The UN has 5
permanent members, 1 rotating president and 1 secretary general (7 heads) who are making most of
the decisions and 10 horns which represent 10 countries that are temporary members. This beast will
dominate the governments of the world and will crush any country / people that do not submit to it. The
beast may also create its own financial system which will prohibit any one else from buying or selling
anything else unless they use it (or take the mark of the beast) Rev 13:17. This beast will have all the
power and authority given to it by the dragon (satan).

Verse 8: I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before
whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes
like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.

Explanation: 3 of the temporary members of the beast will be uprooted and another country will come
up (Dan 8:8-9). This horn or country will become exceedingly strong and will cause many believers to
fall. The temple in Jerusalem will be rebuild or at least the sacrifices that used to happen during temple
times will be reinstated and the beast will cause this to stop. There were 2 daily sacrifices in YHWH's
sanctuary (Ex 29:38-42). So 2,300 morning and evening sacrifices would equal 1,150 days. This was
fulfilled in part when Antiochus Epiphanies set up a pagan altar for worship in Kislev 25, 168 B.C. Then
the destroying of that altar and reconstruction of the altar of YHWH by Judas Maccabeus on Kislev 25
(3rd month of the Hebrew calendar), in 165 B.C., exactly 1,150 days later, what is known as Hanukah.
Hanukah means rededication. Though this was already fulfilled, there will also be a dual fulfillment of
this in the end time.

This beast with its heads and horns will rule for 42 months (Rev 13:5). This will be a time of great
tribulation for all the believers and everyone existing will have to go through the trial by ”Fire”. In the
height of its power, it will be brought down by the Lion of Judah (YAHSHUA). This is my understanding of
the Dream of Daniel.
