DRAFTING- defined as an engineering drawing, graphical representation of


structures, machines, and their component parts that communicates the
engineering intent of a technical design to the craftsman or worker who
makes the product.
2. COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN- is a computer technology that designs a
product and documents the designs process.
3. DRAFTSMEN- A person that plans, designs and overseas the construction of
buildings that practices the professions to provide services in connection with
the design and spaces within the surrounding.
4. VAN DER ROHE- One of the World’s Greatest Architects that design the
famous Farms Worth House in America and the Chicago Federal Center.
5. CHINESE- An ancient civilization that invented the paper made from plant
like fiber.
6. CAVE WALL DRAWING- It is a type of parietal art that can be found on the
wall or ceilings of a rock.
7. HIEROGLYPHICS- The formal writing system used in Ancient combined logo-
graphic, syllabic and alphabetic elements with a total of some 1,000 distinct
characters.
8. Renaissance- A fervent period of European cultural, artistic, political and
economic “rebirth” following the Middle Ages that has great influence for the
birth of new design architecture.
9. Medieval- A period in the 10th Century the establishment of churches and
monasteries led to the development of stone architecture that elaborated
vernacular Roman forms from, from which the term “Romanesque” is derived.
10.Da Vinci- The famous artist who painted the famous “Vitruvian Time” and
the“Last Supper” during the Renaissance period.
11.Graphite Pencil- types of pencil is made of graphite and clay and the most
common pencil used in art and writing.
12.Mechanical Pencil types of pencil create sharp lines and do not need to be
sharpened
13. Eraser-has a texture of a rubbery consistency and is mostly made of synthetic
fiber, rubber, soy-based gum, vinyl, plastic or gum like materials.
14. Charcoal Pencil- types of pencil usually range from HB to 6B and creates dark
and rough lines.
15. Sandstone-considered as one of the erasers in history because it is used to
remove small errors from papyrus documents written in ink.
16. Walter Gropius- He was an American architect, designer, writer, and educator.
He designed more than 1,000 structures over a creative period of 70 years. He
believed in designing in harmony and its environment, a philosophy he called
organic architecture.
17. Egyptians- The ancient civilization of the well-preserved Temple Of Horus at
Edfu and Pyramid of Giza.
18. Stretcher-part of drawing table that cross pieces which connect the legs to
add strength and stability.
19. Drop leaf- part of a drawing table that portion of the top which overextends
the apron and can be hinged down to take up less space when not in use.
20. T-square- A technical drawing instrument used primarily for drawing horizontal
lines on a drafting table. It may also use guide for triangles to draw vertical or
diagonal lines.
21. Compass- An instrument that can be used for inscribing circles or arcs.
22. Ruler- A device used in geometry and technical drawing, as well as engineering
and construction.
23. Triangle- An object used in engineering and technical drawing with the aim of
providing a straightedge at a right angle or other planar angle to a baseline.
24. Handle- The screw on the hinge holds the two legs in its position, the hinged
can be adjusted depending on desired stiffness. The tighter the screw, the better
the compass performance.

objects, also known as the object line.
49. Center Line- A thin line consisting of two long dashes and short dash drawn
alternately with a gap of at least 2 millimeters in between it represents the
axis
or center of the circle.
50. Short Break Line- A thin line drawn in free hand to show details that a part
has been cut off or broken out.
