Assignment

(i.)

To begin with, I have gone through so much of character development honing

different skills that I have in order to improve my life significantly, but one of the
many skills that I highly think needs improving is my communication and listening
skills. Although I have improved many of my other skills including my communication
and listening to the best as I can, I feel has been a lack of growth in my
communication and listening skills over the years. Which is why im chosing
communication and listening as the skills I would like to improve or enhance.

When in public, being more confident and articulate when speaking in front of
groups is a huge step toward enhancing my communication and listening abilities. I
can also improve my active listening skills by paying more attention to what other
people are saying and avoiding interrupting once someone is speaking. I can also
organize my response to what they are saying. Moreover, during a close
conversation, one factor I still need to improve is my non-verbal communication,
which is my body language. In order to enhance this, I need to learn to communicate
nonverbally by observing my own body language, facial expressions, and eye contact
to make sure they match the messages the other person is trying to convey. Another
aspect of improving my communication skills is to try to empathize with others by
trying to understand and feel their emotions which would help me communicate
better and give better replies to the ongoing topic. Furthermore, by building
measurable goals for each of my aim, I can track my progress, which allows me to
assess how much I am improving in different aspects. This can be done in many ways,
such as gathering feedback from my peers, mentors or collagues or even from
positive criticism as well as completing self-assessments after delivering
presentations which can often be done in classes, online meetings or even online
sessions. Keeping track of how often I participate in discussions through active
listening and assessments of my own listening style through self-evaluations or
external comments are also a way to improve my communication and listening skills.
In addition to this, evaluating the clarity and quality of well-written documents as
well as keeping track of how many changes are required for significant emails or
reports, and get input on my own writing style from peers or collegues. By
monitoring my non-verbal cues during interactions and quite possibly recording
myself in conversations or presentations, to review my body language and facial
expressions may improve to connect my non-verbal cues with my verbal messages
during interactions. Also, by assessing my own capacity to understand and relate to
others's feelings through interactions with friends or colleagues for feedbacks on
how I communicate with empathy, and also by aiming at least 80% of minteractions
to result in negative feedback may improve my sympathetic communication. Over
and above that come the achievable plans, ensuring that my obbjectives are
reasonable by creating workabble plans that specify the actions required to enhance
my communication and listening abilities. One way is by learning to speak in public,

this can be achieved by joining public speaking groups or clubs to practice regularly,
attending online courses or workshops solely focused on public speaking and
presentation skills. While these are not that difficult to do, an easy option is available
and that is to practice speaking in front of a mirrior or simply recording yourself to
recognize the areas that needs improvement. And after doing this consistently, I can
gradually increase my audience size after my confidence grows further. Active
listening is also one useful way, by attending training sessions that focus on listening
techniques, engaging in active listening on low stakes situations like casual
conversations with friends and family, and lastly using mindfulness techniques to
increase my ability to focus and be present in conversations. My written
communication can be improved by taking online courses on professional writing
and communication, using writing tools and grammar checkers to my improve the
quality of my written documents, and lastly seeking feedback from my peers and
colleagues incorporating their suggestions to improve my writing skills. As for kmy
non—verbal comunication, by using online resources, books, or courses to learn
about nonverbal communication and body language, seeking feedback from others
to make needed adjustments on my non-verbal communication and lastly practicing
eye contact, appropriate gestures and facial expressions. As for empathy, it would be
the same as the others, by participitating in training sessions that focus on empathy
and emotional intelligence, practicing active listening and validation techniques
during conversations in order to shop understanding and empathy, practicing
empathy and perspective-taking by participating in role-playing games, or reflecting
my own interactions to see how I can better understand and relate to other peoples
feelings. Moving onto relevant goals, this is needed in order to stay motivated while
ensuring that my efforts are aligned with my personal and professional objectives by
the benefits of how enhancing my own communication and listening skills in various
aspects of my life. One way is by improving my public speaking skills. Being able to
speak in front of an audience more confidently and effectively can open up doorways
that greatly impact my career advancement. In active listening, stronger relationships,
fewer misunderstandings and increased teamwork as welll as collaborations can be
achieved. And in written communication as it can help in my professional career,
improve my project management skills, and also decrease in misunderstanding
resulting that written communication is crucial. As for non-verbbal communication,
developing my non-verbal communication skills can enhance the quality of
interactions by increasing my persuasiveness and personability which can
significantly help while having a conversation with others. And last for empathy,
building my empathy can strengthen my bonds in both personal and professional
contexts, creating a welcoming and understanding atmosphere. Moving onto
time-bound objectives, this can help to instill a sense of urgency and keep my
attention on objectives and setting deadlines helps keep track of progress and
promotes constant effort. I made a list of how I can improve each skill group as well
as how their time frame will be.
