II. NARRATIVE REPORT
Nowadays, diseases such Dengue is contagiously spreading in our Calbayog City,
according to the post-report of “Calbayog Journal Page, 2024” that the Calbayog is under
the calamity of state due to the outbreak of Dengue Disease. Unfortunately, there is almost
400 more cases at General Hospital, covering almost the patients of dengue cases. On the
contrary, the NWSSU commenced the initiatives for the supplemental activities. Dengue is
a serious dilemma that causes inevitable march of death and requires a brisk action.
It was a dynamic event entitled "Deng-Get Out! Search and Destroy" on August 31,
2024. Hosted by Northwest Samar State University and held at the CCIS building, the latter
became a beehive of activities for all first-year students coming from every department, all
brought under one roof as members of the National Service Training Program's (NSTP)
Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and the Literacy Training Service (LTS). Instead of
a quiet orientation, Engr. First to take center stage were Ryan Zosa and Ms. Toni Charm
Calag to apprise the viewers of the dangers of dengue and to unmask ways to eradicate
mosquitoes. Clear as it was, the mission of "Deng-Get Out! Search and Destroy" was to
chase away not just the mosquitoes but to scrub away the possible breeding places first
before they could lay their eggs. This was another proactive measure in direct response to
the relentless spread of the dengue virus with a high rate of infection to ensure that the
campus community is adequately protected and that everybody stays safe.
Afterwards, the event went by with the final instruction of our NSTP director, he
started gathering the leaders from each section and program. Instructing them to divide the
section into 10 groups. Prior the activity, we were tasked on our different areas to take and
begin the said Search and Destroy activity. In our undertaking, we were obliged at the COM
Dean Office (College of Management). There, as the leader, I assigned our sectioned group
on different areas at the COM. As the time goes by, around 10:00 AM, we started cleaning,
removing the liquids at the empty gallons, bottles, tires, and many more. Also, we took
account of the canals way and removed the excess garbage. Finally, after the activity, we
signed the attendance sheet and tasked them to dismissed the gathering.

According to Heraclitus “Change is the constant thing in life” we therefore conclude
that the said activity, Deng-get out! Search and destroy activity did not only made us
obliged to clean, but to make a change in our Calbayog City, the NSTP program was
indeed a good deed for the community, changes to adopt and for further welfare. As we
took our reflection in the activity, we pondered that the trashes residues we threw was
taking its turn to us. Hence, we must face the consequences it bears for this by doing
actions.
III. PHOTO DOCUMENTATION
