Assignment 1

Objec ve: Using various commands to create styles in LibreO ce Writer.

Task: Type a paragraph with at least 100 words and create below given styles as instructed:
1. Heading: Font name: Font name: Times New Roman, Size: 24 , Colour: Red. Give the style name: Dream Heading
(Use create style from selec on command to create style)
2. Paragraph: Apply Style Text Body from the Style Gallery
3. Quote: Font Name: Broadway, Size:16, Colour: Blue, Alignment: Center. Give the style name: MyStyle

Solution:
Crea ng a new style from a selec on :
(i) Using Style op on from Menu Bar
(ii) Using Style Drop Down list box, as shown in Fig. 1.1, from the Toolbar. The current paragraph style is displayed in
the textbox. If the Toolbar is not visible then, click on View>Toolbars, and enable Forma ng/“Forma ng (Styles)”.
(iii) Using Sidebar Menu. On the Sidebar,
clicking on Styles icon, displays the Style sub-menu as shown in Fig. 1.2.

(iv) Using keyboard shortcut — F11 func on key.

5. Write the name for the new style as EuroStyle and click on OK.

Assignment 2

Objec ve: Steps to insert and crop an image in LibreOffice Writer.

Task:
1. Create a new document in LibreO ce Writer and Type a paragraph.
2. Insert a picture of your choice.
3. Crop the picture
Solu on:
Inser ng an Image and Cropping it.
1. Click in the LibreO ce document where you want the image to appear.
2. Choose Insert>Image> From File from the menu bar.

3.On the Insert Page dialog, navigate to the le to be inserted, select it and click Open.

At the bo om of the dialog are two op ons, Preview and Link. Select Preview a thumbnail of the selected image on
the right, so you can verify that you have the correct le.
Steps to crop an Image
1. To start cropping the image, right click on it and select Pictures from the pop-up menu.
2. In the Picture dialog box, select the crop page

Task:
1. Create a new document in OO Writer as template.
2. Set as default template

1. Open a new or existing document.
2.Add the school logo.
3.From the main menu, choose File>Templates>Save As Template

4. In the New template filed, type GRADE 10.

5. Click OK to save the new template.

Setting it as Default template


Step 1. Click and select Set as default template checkbox to make the current template as the
default template.
Step 2. Click Save button to save the template. A template in Writer is saved with an extension. ott.
Now this template file can be used by any document in LibreOffice Writer.

Objec ve: Create a customized Table of content and change Background color.

Task:
1. Create a new document in LibreO ce Writer.
2. Insert TOC
3. Change Background Color.

1. Prepare your document and set its heading as heading 1 and heading 2

2. Place the cursor where you want the table of contents to be inserted.

1. Use the Background tab, to add color or a image to the table background.

2. To add color to the background of the Table of Contents, simply click the desired color in the color grid.

Assignment 1: Euro Bank has its deposit and withdrawal details of each customer for 3
months. Prepare Consolidated Data for the same.
Solution:
1. Enter details of deposit and withdrawal of each customer.

2. Choose the Consolidate op on under the Data Menu.

3. The consolidated dialog box appears. Select the source range and click on Add

4. Click More in the consolidate dialog to display addi onally se ngs.

● Select link to source data to insert the formulas. This generates the results in the
target range instead of the actual results.

5. Click Ok to consolidate the ranges.

Assignment 2: Euro Distributors distributes various items to different sellers. Calculate the
seller wise distribution of products using SUBTOTAL option.
Solution:
1. Enter the required data in the Spreadsheet.

2. Select the range of cells that you want to calculate subtotals for, and then choose
Data>Subtotals

Assignment 3: Prepare a SCENARIO to calculate Profit and Profit % for different Selling and
Cost Price.
Solution:
1. Enter the values of SP and CP and calculate the Profit and Profit %.

2. Select the cells that contain the values that will change between Scenarios.
3. Choose Tools>Scenarios.

4. Click OK to close the dialog. The new scenario is automa cally ac vated.

5. We can create several scenarios for any given range of the cells.

Assignment 4: Find the value of Cost Price, if the value of Profit is known, using GOAL
SEEK operation.
Solution:
1. Enter the values of Selling price and Cost price and calculate the value of Profit by
applying the formula.

2. Place the cursor in the formula cell and choose Tools>Goal Seek.

3. Dialog box appears, cell is already entered.

4. Set the target value., ex. Profit will be 200.

then only a person can withdraw the profit.

Note: Hence to make the profit of Rs. 200 the CP should be 150.

Assignment 5- Steps to create a Marksheet using MACROS in LibreOffice Calc.


Solution:
1. Open a new Spreadsheet.
2. Prepare sample data of 3 students for marksheet.

3. Use Tools>Macros>Record Macros to start the macro recorder. The recorder Macro
dialog box is displayed with a a stop recording button.

4. Apply all the formatting options and calculate total and percentage of a student in
Sheet 1.

5. Save the Macro in My Macros Standard Library. Click on Save button.
6. To run the Macro, Click on Run Macro. Macro Selector dialog box appears. Select the
Macro which you want to run from the Standard Library.

7. The Macro executed successfully. Same formatting and Functions applied on that
particular sheet as well on which we run our Macro.

Assignment 1: Create a Table in LibreOffice Base using:
● Design View
● SQL command
Solution:
Create a Table using Design View
1. Click on Create Table in Design View.. option available under Tasks and a Table Design window
appears as shown below.

2. Specify the fields name and data type of the field to be created by selecting the appropriate type
available under Field type dropdown list.
3. Save your table.

4. Fill the required data in the Table.

Create a Table using SQL Command


1. Click on Tools menu and then select SQL option.

2. Write the SQL command to create a table in Command to execute box and click on Execute
button.

3. Insert the records in the Table using Insert command.

4. Click on Execute button. After successfully inserting all the records, click on Close button.

Assignment 2: Execute the SQL Commands on the given table : Employee.

1. Click on Create Query using SQL Commands.

3. Apply different queries as mentioned from(a) to () and run the query for the output.
(a) Display records of all the employees in descending order of their salary.

(b) Display the records of all the females employees having salary greater than 60,000.

(c) Insert one more record in an Employee table having following details
(108,Swati,’F’,CEO,95000).

(e) Delete the record of an employee whose Ecode is 101.

Assignment 3: Create a Query using Design View and execute the following commands on
the table Employee:

queries needs to be applied. And click on Add button.

(a) Display the Name, Dept and Salary of all the employees.

(b) Display the Name, Gender, Dept and Salary of all Female employees.

Assignment 4: Write the steps to create a form using Wizard in LibreOffice Base.
Solution:
1. Click Use Wizard to create Form.. op on under Tasks group. The Form Wizard dialog box appears as shown below.
2. Click Next> You see the set up a sub form step dialog box of the wizard as shown below.

3. You can select the op on Add Subform, if you need to insert the contents in the table in a separate form. Click
Next>
4. Now you need to arrange selected elds in a form. You can use di erent styles from the list displayed below:
Once’s you have selected a style, click Next>

5.A dialog box appears wherein you select the data entry model.

6. Click Next> You should see a dialog box wherein you can specify the styles to be used in the form.

7. Click Next> You see a dialog box where you can specify the name of the form.

8. Click Finish.

Assignment 5: Write the steps to create a report using Wizard in LibreO ce Base.
1. Click on Reports sec on under Database in the LibreO ce base applica on. Once you select the op on, you should
see a window similar to the one displayed below.

2. Now we can generate the report for the table created earlier. Click on Use Wizard to Create Report.. op on
available under Tasks. Once you select the Use Wizard to create Report.. op on. You should see a window similar to
one displayed below.

3. You have to select all the table elds by selec ng the >> bu on, once you click the bu on >> you should see a
dialog box similar to the one displayed below.

4. You can rede ne the labels of the elds in the reports or else you can set the default name. Once you click Next>,
you should see a dialog box similar to the one displayed below.

5. You can sort the eld variables in the report by selec ng the appropriate eld and sor ng method. Once you click
Next>, you should see a dialog box similar to the one displayed below.

6. You can select the layout of the report by selec ng the appropriate op on available under the Layout of data down
list and you can see also select the orienta on of the report.
