Week 4 Maths Progress Report

Charlene K. has shown strong performance in mathematics, particularly in numbers and geometry, scoring 68% overall. However, she struggles with linear programming and graph formulation, which will be addressed through continuous practice and specialized resources. Recommendations include creating a question bank for additional practice and allocating specific time for focused study sessions.

WEEK 4 PROGRESSIVE MATHS REPORT 21-01-2025

LEARNER’S NAME; Charlene K.

THEME; Data and probability, geometry and measurements, patterns and algebra and numbers.

COMPETENCY; uses mathematics knowledge to solve real life problems.

LEARNING DOMAIN; cognitive through extensive assessments. Ie tests.

Each theme was scored out of 20.

item Theme Sub theme score

1 Numbers  Numerical concepts 16
2 Patterns and algebra  Inequalities and linear 06
programming
3 Data and probability.  Graphs 10
 Data collection and display
4 Geometry and  Similarities and enlargement 18
measurements.  mensuration
Strengths; she has understood the themes deeply and can have a smooth transition from one chapter
unto the next one. This has been manifested in the way she quickly organizes her responses to the item.

Since an item is a combination of more than 2 chapters, she has gained a broader way of interpreting
the scenarios .

Has developed love for 68% of the math’s content and we have 4 chapters to complete the math
syllabus. These will be covered later since frequent tests are paramount.

Weaknesses and mitigations ;

1. Avoidable mistakes during the manipulation stage which is after the identification stage. For
instance she wrote 6000000 instead of 2000000. At the onset of the calculation in item 2 which
affected her accuracy. This will be mitigated by continuous testing and exercises for which we
must create ample time for her to practice.

2. Formulation of the linear programming model was a menace and the graphs somehow
challenged her. This will be mitigated by having models presented to her on charts for frequent
visits. A SPECIAL GRAPHBOOK WILL BE ALLOCATED FOR MATH EVEN AFTER OUR HOLIDAY
PROGRAM. SHE WILL PRACTICE TWO GRAPHS IN A DAY.
Recommendations.

1. I HAVE OBTAINED 50 NUMBERS FOR HER TO PRINT IF POSSIBLE FOR USE EVEN DURING
SCHOOL DAYS FOR MORE PRACTICE. This will act as her maths question bank since the
competence based curriculum has no QBs to be bought.

2. The parents and the teacher will forge a way for Charlene to get more practice time for the
remaining week. For instance get ‘’CHARLENE TIME’’ FROM 2PM TO 5PM, as practice time.

Thanks a bunch for enormous support.
