Microsoft PowerPoint
MS Powerpoint is a widely used presentation software developed by Microsoft. It is part of the
Microsoft Office suite of productiviy applications.
PowerPoint allows users to create visual presentations, commonly referred to as slideshows,
which can include text, images, multimedia, charts, graphs, and more. These presentations are
often used for business meetinngs, educational purposes, training sessions, and various other
situations where information needs to be communicated in a structured and visually appealing
manner.
PowerPoint provides a user-friendly interface for designing and organizing slides, making it
accessible for users with varying levels of expertise. It offers tools for creating and formatting
text, incorporating visual elements, adding animations and transitions, and facilitating the
delivery of presentations in a slideshow format.
With PowerPoint, you can also create speaker notes, handouts, and customize the design of your
slides using templates and master slides. It supports collaboration features, allowing multiple
users to work on the same presentation simultaneously.
PowerPoint presentations can be saved in various formats, including the default. pptx, PDF, and
more, making them suitable for distribution or sharing.
DIFFERENT PARTS and FUNCTIONS of MS POWERPOINT
1. TITLE SLIDE
The first slide in a PowerPoint presentation, typically containing the presentation title and
the author’s name.
2. SLIDES
These are individual pages or screens where you can add content, such as text, images,
and multimedia.
3. TEXT BOX
You can add text to your slides using text boxes. Double-clicking on a slide will allow
you insert and edit text.
4. IMAGES
You can insert images from your computer or online sources into your slides to enhance
your presentation.
5. SHAPES
PowerPoint offers a variety of shapes that can be added to your slides for design and
visual appeal.
6. CHARTS
You can create charts and graphs to visually represent data within your presentation.
7. TRANSITIONS
PowerPoint provides various transition effects that you can apply between slides to create
smooth animations.
8. ANIMATIONS
You can animate individual elements on a slide to control when they appear and how
they behave during the presentation.
9. SPEAKER NOTES
Speaker notes are hidden notes that only you can see during a presentation. They can
include additional information or reminders.
10. MASTER SLIDES
These are templates that control the overall design and formatting of your presentation.
They can be edited to maintain consistency.

This view allows you to rearrange and organize your slides easily.

Start a presentation to view and navigate through your slides. You can also set up custom
slide show options.
