II. Rationale
The Student Handbook is an essential tool that provides clear guidelines and expectations for
student behavior, academic standards, and overall school policies. By developing a
comprehensive handbook, San Jose National High School aims to establish a cohesive
environment that promotes discipline, fosters academic integrity, and encourages personal
responsibility among students. This handbook will serve as a valuable resource, ensuring that
students, parents, and staff have a shared understanding of the school’s rules and regulations.
III. Objectives
The objectives of the Student Handbook are as follows:
1. To define and communicate school policies on behavior, attendance, academic
expectations, dress code, and other school-related matters.
2. To promote a safe and respectful learning environment through a consistent
application of rules.
3. To enhance awareness among students and parents about their roles,
responsibilities, and rights within the school community.
4. To reduce disciplinary issues by providing clear and consistent guidelines that align
with the school’s mission and values.
5. To foster a sense of accountability and responsibility among students as members
of the school community.
IV. Scope and Content of the Handbook
The Student Handbook will cover the following sections:
1. Mission, Vision, and Values of San Jose National High School
2. Academic Policies:
o Grading system
o Honor rolls and academic awards
o Attendance requirements and make-up work

V. Implementation Plan
Phase 1: Development
1. Forming a Committee:
o A committee, consisting of teachers, guidance counselors, student
representatives, and school administrators, will be formed to design and
review the handbook.
2. Content Drafting and Review:
o The committee will draft policies and guidelines based on the Department of
Education’s standards and the specific needs of San Jose National High
School.
3. Approval Process:
o The final draft of the handbook will be presented to the school administration
and relevant stakeholders for approval.

ensure they understand the handbook's importance and how they can support
its implementation.
Phase 3: Implementation and Monitoring
1. Integration into Daily School Life:
o Teachers and staff will incorporate references to the handbook in everyday
interactions and use it as a basis for addressing student issues.
2. Monitoring and Feedback:
o Regular feedback sessions will be conducted with students, parents, and
teachers to assess the handbook’s effectiveness and address any arising
concerns.

Education.
