SET - I

Section A: Mechatronics

1. Measure the linear position of an object using an LVDT. Plot the input vs.
output characteristics. (100 Marks)
2. Use a rotary encoder to measure the angular position of a rotating shaft.
Validate the readings. (100 Marks)
3. Measure and record the speed of a rotating motor shaft using a tachometer
or encoder. (100 Marks)
4. Measure the pressure inside a pneumatic cylinder using a piezoelectric
pressure transducer. Calibrate and analyze results. (100 Marks)
5. Use a thermistor or thermocouple to measure the temperature of a heated
system. Analyze sensor behavior over time. (100 Marks)
6. Use a strain gauge-based load cell to measure force applied on a beam.
Validate with standard weights. (100 Marks)
7. Demonstrate the speed and direction control of a DC servomotor using a
microcontroller or controller hardware. (100 Marks)
8. Control the direction of an AC servomotor using a programmed PLC.
Measure performance under load conditions. (100 Marks)
9. Control the speed of an induction motor using a VFD. Provide a detailed
analysis of speed-torque characteristics. (100 Marks)
10. Write and execute an 8051 program to perform addition, subtraction, and
multiplication. Validate outputs. (100 Marks)
11. Interface a stepper motor with an 8051 microcontroller. Program it to
rotate at specific angles and directions. (100 Marks)
12. Design and implement a traffic light control system using 8051.
Demonstrate its functionality in a simulated intersection. (100 Marks)
13. Design and demonstrate the sequencing of a basic hydraulic circuit using
a simulator or practical setup. (100 Marks)
14. Simulate and execute the sequencing of pneumatic circuits using
software. Document the timing sequence. (100 Marks)
15. Program and demonstrate the sequencing of an electro-pneumatic circuit
using a PLC. (100 Marks)
16. Implement a vision-based image acquisition and processing system to
classify objects based on predefined parameters. (100 Marks)
17. Interface a DC motor with an 8051 microcontroller. Program it to rotate
at specific angles and directions.

Section B: Internet of Things (IOT)

1. Write and implement a program to turn ON/OFF a motor remotely via a


web interface using IoT. (100 Marks)
2. Write a program to Interface a temperature sensor with a microcontroller
to display live data on a web-based dashboard. (100 Marks)
3. Write a program to Interface a solenoid valve with a sensor and IoT
system. Automate the valve operation based on sensor thresholds. (100
Marks)
4. Write a program for microcontroller to control a linear or rotary actuator
based on sensor input transmitted over the internet. (100 Marks)
5. Write a program to Interface a Bluetooth module with a microcontroller
to send live sensor data to a smartphone using tinker card. (100 Marks)
6. Write a program to connect a microcontroller to WiFi and control
appliances via a mobile app or web application. (100 Marks)
7. Set up a system to monitor and log temperature and humidity data using
IoT hardware and software. (100 Marks)
8. Build a model to Create an automated irrigation system controlled by soil
