G. Finding practical -Are the basic Itik-itik dance movements enjoyable

applications of concepts to perform? Why?
and skills in daily living -Aside from the ducks/itik, what animals can we
(Application/Valuing) imitate to create dance movements?
H. Making generalizations -Is 100% participation of dancers important in
and abstractions about performing? Why?
the lesson -What happens when all the members of a dance
(Generalization) group, are all participating?
-What would be the result if some members of a
group are not participating well?

I. Evaluating learning Write TRUE if the statement is correct and FALSE

if it’s incorrect.

1. The dance Itik-itik imitates the movement

of a duck.
2. Itik-itik dance develops arm and feet
movements.
3. Folk dancing does not necessarily improve
physical fitness.
4. Valuing participation in physical activities
enhances the performance.
Safety precaution while dancing should be
observed.

5. Having regular exercise.

Today, we will study the health-related fitness

component.
Health-related fitness refers to the aspect of
physiological function that offer protection from
diseases resulting from sedentary lifestyle.
3. Textbook pages
Let the pupils read the information about the
health-related physical fitness (use pictures or
videos showing different kinds of health- related
fitness activities)

1. Cardiovascular Endurance – the ability of

the heart, blood vessels, and the
respiratory system to deliver oxygen
throughout the body over an extended
period of time.
Region V/Daily Lesson Plan/2019-2020
23
 Having a good cardiovascular fitness will
help you decrease the level of stress and
remove waste products faster.
 To develop your cardiovascular endurance,
engage in aerobic activities like walking,
jogging, biking, rope-jumping, and
swimming.

2. Muscular Endurance – the ability of the

muscles to exert effort over a period of
time.
 Having muscular endurance enables a
person to perform work over an extended
period of time.
 Exercise and regular fitness will ensure
muscular endurance.

3. Muscular Strength – the ability of the

muscles to exert an external force or to lift a
heavy weight.
 Having a good muscular strength will help
you perform easier especially those that
require strength like lifting.
 To develop your muscular strength, do
push-ups, sit-ups, monkey bars,
wheelbarrow, and appropriate weight lifting.

4. Flexibility – the ability to move the joints

freely and painlessly through a wide range
of motion.
 Being physically flexible will help prevent
injuries, improve posture, reduce lower
back pain, and maintain healthy joints.
 To develop your flexibility, perform
stretching exercise.

5. Body Composition – refers to the proportion

of the fat part of the body to the lean part.
 Maintaining a healthy percentage of fat in
the body will help avoid diseases like heart
diseases, diabetes and help prevent having
strained muscles, bone and joints to avoid
injuries.
 To help reduce fat and increase lean body
mass, engage in regular physical activities
and eat a balanced diet.
