A walk to

A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks (1999)
Summary:
Set in the 1950s in Beaufort, North Carolina, A Walk to Remember is a touching love story
about Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan. Landon is a popular but rebellious high school
senior, while Jamie is the kind-hearted, religious daughter of the town’s minister.
When Landon is forced to participate in the school play as punishment for a prank gone
wrong, he reluctantly asks Jamie for help. Despite their differences, Jamie agrees, but under
one condition—he must promise not to fall in love with her. As they spend more time
together, Landon starts to see Jamie differently. Her kindness, faith, and inner strength
inspire him, and he eventually falls deeply in love with her.
However, Jamie reveals a heartbreaking secret—she has leukemia and does not have much
time left. Despite this, Landon remains by her side, determined to make her remaining days
special. He helps fulfill her dreams, including seeing a miracle and getting married. In the
end, Jamie passes away, but her love transforms Landon into a better person, proving that
true love can change lives forever.
