Table set up:
To be a professional, all rules of sanitation must be followed. The table and hands of the manicurist must be
perfectly clean. Everything, including containers, bowls, tools and materials must be in perfect order. Don’t ask
person to sit at the table with remains of the previous manicure in sight. Always clean the table immediately upon
completion of a manicure, so it will be ready for the next person. This will make the manicure more pleasing to the
person and will put her in a more receptive mood for your advice and suggestions.

Mini Manicure:
A Basic Manicure is designed for the individual that wants their nails cleaned, cut & shaped,
cuticles cleaned up, gentle buffing the nails for shine then to complete this service, a
light hand and arm massage. Steps to prep nails before acrylic application or know as a mini
manicure:
1. Sanitize self, client and tools.
2. Clean off nails with acetone.
3. Apply cuticle softener/remover. (leave for 20-30 seconds)
4. Push back and remove dead cuticle.
5. Clean nails with acetone.
6. Rough buff/file nail bed.
7. Apply nail primer/hydrator.
Tools knowledge:
The nail clipper is used for the cutting of nails when is necessary.
The file is used to smooth off rough edges and prep the nail bed for the acrylic application.
The cuticle pusher is used to push off dead cuticle off the nail bed for a smooth n clean nail bed.
The cuticle trimmer and cuticle nipper is used to remove the dead cuticle.
The nail scissors is used to cut nails and nail tips.
Cuticle care:
The easiest way to care for them is to soak your hand or foot in soapy, warm water for around 10 minutes every few days.
This helps soften the cuticle and keeps your nails clean. You can also apply cuticle oil and a massage cream. Moisturize your
cuticles regularly to prevent dryness and cracking.
Acrylic knowledge:
In order for the products to properly adhere to the porous surface of the nail plate, one must begin with a clean start. A clean start begins
with simple hand-washing and scrubbing the nail plate to remove surface oils and other contaminates that interfere with proper adhesion. Nail
scrubs will do much more than remove oils. Scrubs get rid of bacteria and fungal spores which lead to infections. Skipping this step is the major
cause of nail infections, and can also cause enhancements to lift at the cuticle.
UV Lamp knowledge:
A UV lamp is different from a regular lamp because it's typically made of quartz instead of glass. Inside, there is an inert gas mixed
with mercury. When the lamp is plugged in, electricity reacts with the mercury, and the lamp produces UV light. The type of
UV light emitted depends on the pressure inside the lamp.
Gel polish knowledge:
Gently remove oil from surface with a buff/file.
Apply thin layer of base coat. (cure in uv for 30-60 seconds)
Apply a thin layer of color coat repeat step 2-3 times. (cure in uv for 30-360 seconds)
Apply thin layer of no wipe top coat. (Cure in uv for 30-360 seconds)
Nails brushes
Acrylic brush
An acrylic nail brush in a size 5 or 6 is often recommended as the best size for beginners. You'll also find that most
beginner’s kits come with a size 5 or 6 brush. I'd have to agree that if you're just getting into acrylic nails, a size 5 or 6
brush is a good starting point.
Nail art brush:
brushes use for the designing of nails.
Dotting tool
dotting toll is also use for designing nails.

Nail Fungal
Nail fungal infection, also known as onychomycosis, is a common condition that affects the nails. It is caused by
different types of fungi, such as dermatophytes, yeast, and mold. Fungal infections usually occur when the fungus
enters the nail bed through a small cut or separation between the nail and the skin.
Some common causes and risk factors for nail fungal infections include:
1. Poor hygiene: Fungal infections thrive in moist and warm environments, so poor hygiene can increase the risk of
nail fungal infections. Not keeping the nails clean and dry can create an environment for fungal growth.
2. Trauma to the nails: Injuries to the nails, such as cuts, scrapes, or repeated pressure from tight-fitting shoes, can
create openings for fungi to enter the nail bed and cause an infection.
3. Weakened immune system: People with weakened immune systems, such as those with diabetes, HIV/AIDS, or
autoimmune disorders, are more susceptible to developing nail fungal infections.
4. Age: The risk of nail fungal infections increases with age. Older adults may have slower nail growth, reduced blood
circulation, and weaker immune systems, which can make them more prone to nail fungal infections.
5. Sweaty feet: Excessive sweating can create a favorable environment for fungal growth. People with sweaty feet
may be more susceptible to nail fungal infections.
6. Nail damage from nail salon procedures: Nail salon procedures, such as manicures or pedicures, can sometimes
damage the nails and increase the risk of fungal infections if proper sanitation and hygiene practices are not followed.
To prevent nail fungal infections, here are some ways to take care of your nails:
1. Keep your nails clean and dry: Wash your hands and feet regularly and make sure to thoroughly dry them,
especially between the toes and fingers. Avoid wearing damp or wet socks and shoes.
2. Trim nails properly: Trim your nails straight across and keep them short. Avoid cutting the nails too short or
rounding the edges, as this can create small tears or cuts that may allow fungi to enter.
3. Use proper footwear: Choose shoes that fit well and allow your feet to breathe. Opt for shoes made of breathable
materials, such as leather or canvas, and avoid tight-fitting shoes that can cause excessive sweating.
4. Wear breathable socks: Use moisture-wicking or breathable socks that help keep your feet dry. Avoid wearing
synthetic or nylon socks that can trap moisture and promote fungal growth.
5. Practice good foot hygiene: Wash your feet daily with soap and warm water. Dry your feet thoroughly, paying
attention to the spaces between the toes, and apply talcum powder or antifungal powder to absorb excess moisture.
6. Avoid sharing personal items: Do not share towels, nail clippers, files, or other personal items that may come into
contact with infected nails.
Ways to treat nail infections
1. Topical antifungal medications: These medications are applied directly to the affected nails and work to kill the
fungus. They come in the form of creams, lotions, or nail lacquers.
2. Oral antifungal medications: In more severe cases, oral medications may be prescribed to treat the infection.
These medications work from the inside out to attack the fungus.
3. Nail debridement: In some cases, a healthcare professional may trim and remove the infected nail or file it down to
reduce thickness. This can help to speed up the healing process and allow topical medications to penetrate the nail
more effectively.
4. Laser treatment: Laser therapy can be used to destroy the fungus without damaging the surrounding tissue. This
treatment option is growing in popularity and may require multiple sessions to achieve the desired results.
5. Home remedies: Some individuals may choose to try home remedies to treat nail fungal infections. These can
include soaking the affected nails in a solution of vinegar and water, applying essential oils like tea tree oil or
eucalyptus oil, or using over-the-counter antifungal creams or ointments.
Encapsulation
Encapsulation, also referred to in the nail industry as 'embedding' is the action of enclosing something
in or as if in a capsule. The possibilities of what you can encapsulate are endless; from
conventional nail items such as glitter, cracked ice and confetti etc. to other items such as lace,
snakeskin and more.
3dsculpting
1. Prep, sculpt (if creating an extension) and polish the nail.
2. Pick up a small bead of white acrylic and place it slightly left of center on the nail plate.
3. Working quickly, pull the bead into a teardrop shape.
4. To create a petal, use the tip of the brush to press down and outward in the center of the
teardrop. The edges of the petal will form a slight rim around the center.
5. Then, use the edge of the brush to further shape the petal.
6. To make a flower, create four more petals following steps 2-5. For even placement, use
a clock as a guide. In this example, the first petal is at 12 o’clock and the second petal is
at 2 o’clock.
7. To create the remaining petals, add petals at 5 o’clock, 7 o’clock and 10 o’clock.
8. Then add two more flowers so they appear to be behind the first. Pick up a small bead of
white acrylic and place it between the flower and the free edge, and between two petals.
9. Follow steps 2-5 to create the first petal.
10. Then, add three additional petals to create three distinct flowers.
11. Next, add a center to the first flower. Pick up a tiny bead of yellow acrylic and place it in
the center of the first flower.
12. To create detail, use the tip of the brush to gently press down in the center of the yellow
bead. Then, use the brush to shape the edges.
13. Finally, add a yellow center to the two remaining flowers, following steps 11-12.
Now you know how to create easy breezy 3-D flowers!
Ombre technique
Ombre nails feature two colors smoothly graduating into each other. It's a popular look that
is particularly striking when done with a dark and light color coming together. However, it can
also be done with different textures such as glitter and chrome.
Marble nail
1. Apply a base coat and then one or two coats of a color of your choice. If
you're creating the white marble look, then this color would be white.
2. Dot on the color you would like to appear as the marble. For the white-and-
black marble look, this is when you apply the black polish.
Pro tip: Make sure the dots are very tiny. Lopez also suggests trying squiggly
lines in acrylic paint for a similar effect.
3. Add tiny dots of the first color you put on your nails on top of the previous
dots.
4. Using a detail brush, swirl around the colors into an organic, free-form
shape.
Textured nail art &Croc nails
Plainer textured relatives these polishes are matte and have a noticeable rough texture you can
feel once they dry.. Even though the base color is matte, you get a bit of depth and sparkle
that's downright fairy-like. The end result is subtle glitter and subtle texture.

Builder gel knowledge
Builder gel is used when you want to create length, thickness or add strength to the nail.
You can apply builder gel to either natural nails for a non-chip overlay, or use it with nail tips to
create extensions or enhancements.
