Everyday Carry (EDC)

2021
EDC stands for “Everyday Carry”. It represents the items that you carry on your person from a day to day
basis. Most people carry an EDC and don’t even know it, which probably includes a phone, wallet, keys, and maybe
a watch. I like to think about my EDC in terms of “Tiers”. Tier 1 includes all of those core EDC items that basically
everyone carries. Tier 2 includes what I refer to as “Prepper Tools”; a knife, flashlight, lighter, etc. Tier 3 includes
any additional items that are more optional, depending on the amount of pocket space I have available with the
clothes that I am wearing on a particular day.

Your EDC is tailor made for your specific needs, region, profession and person preferences. No one should
have identical EDC’s in terms of manufactures and gear model numbers, but the type of items may resemble others
(e.g., most Preppers like to EDC a folding knife if their country allows it). This EDC represents what I am currently
carrying on a day to day basis in my pockets.

Your smartphone is probably the most
important EDC item in an urban
environment due to the capabilities that it
provides. I recently did a video on my
phone setup, which I titled The Prepper
Phone. In that video I discussed some of
the privacy and security measures that I
put into place, in addition to the Prepper
related apps that I have installed on my
phone. In addition to the OS and App
related configuration, I also store a few
Samsung Galaxy S9 additional items behind the phone case: a
Phone (unlocked) $300 China bandaid and $20 emergency cash.
While most people use their phone for
providing the time, I still like having an old
school watch. There are a lot of more
Prepper appropriate watches out there
that provide awesome capabilities, but
I've been using this Movado watch for the
past several years, which was an birthday

I haven't made the switch over to one of
those ultra thin wallets, so I am still using
a leather bifold watch that has RFID

I've been carrying this folding knife for the
majority of this year. It meets all of my
qualifications for an ideal Urban EDC knife: It's
highly rated, the blade length is legal in my
state, it has a strong locking mechanism, the

I am a big fan of Olight Flashlights in general. I
recently upgraded my Baton II for the Baton
Pro, which packs more punch with a maximum
output of 2000 lumens. This might be the
perfect EDC flashlight: it is a great handheld
size, features a high output battery, it’s

This multi-tool is currently discontinued, but

If you're a Prepper, you should have a method
of starting a fire on you 24/7. The BIC lighter
works everytime, is inexpensive, and compact.
Even though I'm not a smoker, I think it's a
good calling card as a Prepper to have a fire
starting tool on you, whether it be for lighting
birthday candles, incense, or whatever.
Lighters aren't just for smokers. You don't
want to be known as a Prepper and then when
someone asks if you have a lighter, not have

This is my favorite EDC pen. It's super compact,

I've been using these Mini Medi's as an
individual first aid kit for minor wounds that
can fit in your pocket. I previously used a
different storage bag for them, but these
Manhattan Portage coin purses have been the
most durable that I have found yet. I include a

When I have the pocket space, I have been
using this faraday bag to go digitally off-

of the tracking going on with phones
nowadays, and while I can't stop that
100% efficiently, I can make myself a little
more annoying in that regard. This

reaching my phone and shields against a
