TIMETABLING PROCESS

-Counsellors review course selections to make sure students have made appropriate
course selections.
-Course request numbers are generated (how many students selected each class).
-Administration makes decisions about what courses will run (considering required vs.
elective, staff availability, projected new students)
-Administration make a schedule with the smallest number of conflicts possible (eg:
Sc 9 INC and Eng 9 INC will not be placed in the same block)
-Counsellors look for students without an incomplete schedule and select alternates
(counsellors only contact students if a significant change is being made)
-Counsellors update schedules in May/June (eg: failures, repeating ELL, not registered
in planned summer course)
-Preliminary schedules are distributed in June (changes may still be required)
