INTRODUCTION
1
The Philippine National Police plays a crucial role in ensuring the
safety and security of the Filipino people. As the primary law enforcement
agency in the country, the PNP is responsible for maintaining peace and
order, preventing and solving crimes, and upholding the rule of law. With
their tireless efforts, the PNP has become an integral part of every
community, working hand in hand with the people they serve to create a
safer and more secure society for all.

Community immersion programs involve various activities such as

community dialogues, outreach programs, and community policing, among
others. During these activities, the BISOC Trainees interact with
community members and listen to their concerns, provide information
about safety and security measures, and educate them on crime
prevention strategies. By doing so, the PNP aims to build strong
partnerships with the community, which is essential in preventing crime
and maintaining peace and order.

Through community immersion, the Twenty (20) PNP BISOC

Trainees aims to promote transparency and accountability in its
operations. By engaging with the community, the PNP BISOC Trainees
can receive feedback on its performance and use it to improve its
services. This can help in building trust and confidence in the PNP and
ensures that its operations are aligned with the needs and concerns of the
community.

Overall, a key component of the PNP's role in the community is

community immersion. By interacting with the community members that
they have served, the PNP can create a long-lasting relationship,
encourage respect and cooperation, and encourage belongingness and
shared responsibility in upholding safety and security.

DISCUSSION

A. Area of Deployment
In the 1600s, Spanish invaders came to the Philippines to conquer it
and share their ideas. One day, Spanish soldiers and their priest, Fr.
Saturnino Urios, were sent in different areas of Agusan Del Sur to explore
and share ideas. While doing so, they discovered the land of Kamayo's.
Fr. Urios was confused if the place had already a name, so he asked the
Datu to give it a name. The Datu agreed and the land was named
"AZPETIA". The Spaniards also gave St. Ignacio De Loyola as their patron
to the Kamayo People.
The Spanish word "AZPEITIA" (which in Basque means down the
rock) is where the name "AZPETIA" originated. It was a municipality
located in the Gipuzka province of Spain's Basque region. St. Ignacio de
Loyola was born in Azpeitia, which is located at the base of the Massif
Izarnaitz, which towers over the town and unites the locals. Due to their
name, the Kamayo people do not migrate to other areas; instead, they
preserve the area and make improvements by incorporating Spanish
cultural elements. Even though Spaniards make significant contributions
to the Kamayo, their own way of life is still used as a reminder that they
are Kamayo. The best illustration was rice planting using the "TUDAK"
one technique.
The October 25, 2010 election of Punong Barangay and Sangguniang
Barangay was conducted to elect a new leader to lead the Barangays.
HON. RICKY O. ANTALLAN, SR. won as the new Punong Barangay of
Azpetia, along with the new sets of Sangguniang Barangay members
namely Hon. ERLINDA B. GALDIANO, Hon. JESSIE B. AUSTRIA, Hon.
ESTRELLA L. MEREGILDO, Hon. ROQUE G. ROBLES, Hon. EDGAR M.
MEREGILDO, Hon. MESIMA P. MIRANDA, and Hon. MANUEL T. DIZON.
He implemented new sets of ordinances, modified to build the Birthing
Clinic of Barangay Azpetia, and gave new life to entertainment aspects
such as Search for MISS AZPETIA, GOT TALENT, Different ballgames,
recreational games, and for the first time the CREATION OF 1ST ARAW
NG AZPETIA on July 28, 2011.
