at correct answers?
D. Lesson Proper
Based on the above activity, what do “Our lesson will be about analogy”
you think will be our lesson today?
Before we proceed to our discussion, I
would like you to read the objectives first.
Any volunteer? “Our lesson objectives these

5. between words, terms, and
concepts.
Now for you class: What is analogy? Analogy is when we can see the
likeness between two things that
are unlike.
Very good! Here’s an example of analogy.
This example vividly shows us the
connection between English and language
and mathematics and arithmetic
English is basically a subject that is
focused on language while mathematics
deals primarily with arithmetic or
numbers.
The double column is used to split the
analogy into two parts. The first part is
the left-hand side of the double column
English Language while the second part is
the right-hand side Mathematics
arithmetic.
Keep in mind that the first set of words
presents a relationship that is the same or
alike as the second set of words.
One possible way to read or verbalize an
analogy is like the sample, “English is to a
language as Mathematics is to arithmetic”.
It’s simple, right?
I’m sure you are excited to answer
exercises on analogy.
But before that I want you to group
yourselves into 3 and elaborate the type
of analogy assigned to your respective
groups.
Am I clear class? “Yes Sir!”
Group 1
a. Synonyms are words
possessing the same
meaning. This has something
to do with ideas that are alike
or similar.
b. Antonyms are words
opposite to each other in
terms of meaning.
Group 2
c. Part and whole is where
several objects comprise or
make up a group.
d. Characteristics mostly
comprise of descriptions of
items.
Group 3
e. Object/Purpose/Function
shows what a certain object is
for or explains its use.
f. Cause and Effect one word
is the source of some action
and the other word is the
result or consequence.
Splendid work everyone! “Yes Sir!”
I’m sure you are now ready to answer our
exercises.
E. ACTIVITY (Group Work)
In connection to the class discussion a
while ago, I want you class to group
yourselves into 4 and watch the video
presented. You will have 5 minutes to
answer the questions in the handouts you
are given then select a representative to
present your answer in class.
These are the criteria for rating your
output.
F. Analysis
Guide Questions
1.What analogy can you say about
the video you have watched?
2. How does the hare's behavior at
the beginning of the race create the
analogy of overconfidence in real-life
situations?
3. How does the outcome of the race
between the tortoise and the hare
relate to the concept of
underestimating someone?
4. In the story of the tortoise and the
hare, what does the tortoise
symbolize in the race?
5. Can you provide an example from
your own experiences where the
analogy of the tortoise and the hare
applies?
G. Abstraction

missing part that
matches the same way
as the other parts do.
It’s like you are

finding the piece that
fits.
It helps us understand
Can you explain the connection of complex ideas by comparing
why analogy is helpful in what we know to the things
understanding complex ideas? that we don’t know. It’s like
math in where we can
understand new problems by
comparing it to the problems
we already solved
H. Application
Stay with your groups for now we
will be playing the “Analogous
Adventures”!
Now let us read the directions for
our game.
Each team has 4 minutes to discuss
and write their answer on the
provided bond paper, demonstrating
their understanding of the analogy.
Then each team will present their
answer in the class.
Each correct answer will be given
one point
If a team didn’t answer correctly, the
question is open for other teams to
"steal." A correct answer earns the
stealing team a point.
The team with the most points wins
the game.
Am I clear class?
Go to your respective groups now! Yes Sir/Ma’am!
Thank you. Kindly give yourselves a
Wow clap for a job well done.
(Giving feedbacks and ratings to all
groups)
