SCHOOL WORK IMMERSION PROGRAM (SWIP)


I. Introduction

One of the goals of the K to 12 Basic Education Program is to develop students who have the relevant knowledge, competencies, and values to
pursue further education and training or to enter the world of work either through employment or entrepreneurship. Through the Work Immersion subject
of the Senior High School, the learners are provided with opportunities to familiarize themselves with the workplace; to simulate employment; and to
apply their competencies in areas of specialization in authentic work environments. To achieve this goal, Lyceum Technological College designed work
immersion opportunities for its students and teachers. This hopes to develop effective and productive partnerships in a healthy, safe and comfortable
environment.

As a program, this hopes to give opportunities for the students to apply, re-learn, appreciate and further develop their knowledge, competence,
values and life skills in actual working environment with modification based on the current situation of the world. These include technical skills, work
relations and good work habits and etiquette as well as observance of discipline and respect to the standards and protocols of authorities. All Track/
strand programs that would tap community support and linkages will be done by securing permits from concerned authorities.

II. General Objectives

In general, the K-12 Program aims that Work Immersion provides the SHS learners with opportunities to familiarize themselves with the workplace,
simulate employment and to apply their competencies in areas of specialization/ applied subjects in authentic work environment.
This includes alignment of skills on specific track/ strands to achieve the following objectives:

1. be oriented of the general program, protocols and safety requirements


2. apply and apprecite the principles and theories learned in school
3. enhance technical knowledge and processing skills
4. further develop life skills, communication, human relations and work habits at work, with colleagues and all in work places
5. learn and relearn competencies in natural work environment/ field of work
6. expose them in real workplace environment with the designated Work Immersion/Industry Partners
7. show discipline and follow IATF and DOH protocols

IV. Evaluation Tool


The students’ performance will be evaluated by the Work Immersion Partner at the end of their actual work immersion period. School Work Immersion
Program (SWIP) will be evaluated by the SWIP student-participants. An evaluation tool will be distributed to them after the Work Immersion Period. A random
sampling will be used to determine the sample respondents from the population of SWIP participant.
