Italians love food and they certainly know how to make some great dishes.
Pasta and pizza are just some of the great Italian dishes to try when in Italy.
What better way to experience Italian food than with a food tour. Tours take
place in the heart of the Tuscany area of Italy. Italian tour guides, who can
speak many languages, take you to the various food factories and farms around
Tuscany.
Olive oil is an important part of almost all Italian dishes and Tuscany is famous
for its fine oil.
The tour includes a stop at an olive oil factory where you can see how they
make the oil. The factory doesn't sell the oil, but you can take some oil home
with you as a gift.
The next stop on the tour is a cheese farm. Here you can learn about all the
different kinds of cheese the farm makes and you can even taste a little cheese
to find your favourite! There are also animals on the farm. At the end of the
visit, the farm serves a delicious lunch with cheese and meat from the farm.
No food tour is complete without a stop at a traditional pasta factory. At a
factory near Pisa, you can see all the different types of pasta and learn how they
make it. After the tour of the factory, a stop at the factory's pasta and pizza
kitchen is a must! Here Italian chefs teach you how to make delicious pasta and
pizza dishes. After all that cooking, visitors are usually hungry and can enjoy a
spaghetti dinner in the factory's beautiful garden restaurant with great views of
Pisa.
So, what's for dessert after all this food? Chocolate of course! The final stop on
the tour is
'Chocolate Valley' for the best in Italian chocolate. Chocolate Valley is a
beautiful green area between Pisa and Florence. There are many chocolate
factories there that produce fine chocolate. At the chocolate factories, you don't
just learn about chocolate, you create your own chocolate treats like chocolate
mousse and chocolate bars. The best part is tasting your creations; it's the
perfect end to a delicious day in Italy!
