Course overview
In this module students will develop an awareness of numerical reasoning, problem
solving and the ability to apply common analytical frameworks to help determine the
best course of action for a given real-world problem within a range of organizational
contexts, and then interpret their results using appropriate visualization techniques.
The module content is closely tied to the practice of Business Intelligence and is
helpful for learners to earn the Microsoft Data Analyst Associate certificate.

Analytics
Data Analytics is a significant part of Data Science where data
is organized, processed and analyzed to answer questions,
extract insights, and identify trends. This is done using an
array of tools, techniques, and frameworks that vary
depending on the type of analysis being conducted (Harvard
Business School, 2021).
Applying data analytics tools and
methodologies in a business setting is
typically referred to as Business Analytics
and/or Business Intelligence (when Data
Science
descriptive analytics is placed more
emphasis).
