Routines are not supposed to bind you. They are supposed to set you free.
We have hundreds of things that we what to do in a day.
We want to take care of ourselves and our body, get enough sleep, we want to work
productively, we want to catch up with our friends, read a book, watch a TV show,
spend time with our family.
And it can get overwhelming to have to do everything in a single day and keep it up
regularly.
If we have a routine, it takes care of things that are most important for us to do in our
life on autopilot.
It is important to me that I read, sleep enough and exercise. So I form a routine which
helps me do all of this regularly. I inculcate these habits one by one.
And now I don't have to wake up in the mornings, feel uncertain or overwhelmed by
having to take decisions about how will I do everything I want to today.
I wake up at 7, make my coffee, read my book, exercise and sit to work by 10
because that is my routine that I have made for myself.
It makes my life easy.
And it is not binding, it leaves me a lot of mental energy to take other decisions and
think about other things.
And because it not a boundation and something that makes your life easy you don't
have to feel guilty for not sticking to it.
You can change your routine according to your conditions and deviate from it
whenever you're want.
