ENVIRONMENT:
FS 2 AN OVERVIEW
To have a meaningful and successful accomplishment in this
Learning
FS episode, be sure to read through the whole episode before
participating and assisting in your FS 2 Resource Teacher’s class.
Note all the information you will need and tasks you will need to do
before working on this episode.

Target Your Intended Learning Outcomes

At the end of this Learning Episode, I must be able to assist in the preparation of the traditional face-to-face learning
environment.

Clarify Your Task

Enhancing a Face-to-Face o In-Person Classroom Environment for Learning
In a face-to-face classroom, students and the teacher are physically present. They meet at
a time set in the classroom. The teacher prepares activities, provides instruction and evaluates
students’ learning. Environment and instructional materials are made available in the classroom
where teaching and learning take place most of the time.
Some of the advantages of a face-to-face learning environment for students are:
 less distraction and more concentration than studying at home or elsewhere;
 greater understanding and real world examples from teachers and classmates;
 greater chance of completing course work by doing it in the classroom space;
 learn more easily and comfortably in familiar, traditional classroom situation;
 access more relevant information from teachers and classmates interactions and
 greater opportunity to connect and socialize, network and solve problems together
with classmates and teachers.
Here are some characteristics of face-to-face or in-person learning environment.
 Learning space is physical. Both the teacher and the learner see and hear each
other from the same contained safe place called classroom.
 Lessons are delivered with the teacher physically facilitating. Reading
assignments are from textbooks and other resources provided or referred.
 Class meetings occur regularly on a specific time or schedule.
 Teacher leads the conversation, within a limited amount of time.
 Assessment is done face-to-face and usually during the class meeting.

Participate and Assist

Given the concepts and infographic, how can you participate and assist in a face-to-face
learning environment?
The best thing to participate and assist in a face to face learning environment is engage first with
the classroom routines then proceed to formal discussions. Since face to face learning this is
where the teacher and students meet in a set place for a set time either one-on-one learning or
mostly in a group class lessons. In order to assist and participate in effective way so I must
include giving students task and allowing collaboration, in that way students will work
independently or within a group. Another thing is must create a sense of belonging by displaying
their work and also making praises as a motivation. Lastly I also reflect the students’ differences
and individuality and build a sense of unity. This will help my students engage and learn
effectively.

Notice
Having been exposed to the traditional classrooms in your basic education, it seems that
everything is familiar. However, as a teaching-learning theories evolve overtime there are
changes that are taking place.

Analyze
What do you think brought the changes in the face-to-face learning environment now?
Since new normal education have been employ until now I think technology brought
changes in the face-to-face learning environment. The methods have been used all this time is the
technology. Technology brought another way of teaching and learning environment that allow
teacher and students to stay connected. I think the change is quiet good as the best means to gain
information or knowledge easily. The accessibility and effectiveness of technology brought
benefits and opportunities to educational institution.
From the changes that you identified, choose one that you can do. How will you do it?
The change was the methods of teaching and learning tool with the use of technology. Setting up
with technology-based teachers and students means new learning space, environment and
opportunities. Teachers use it to communicate with the students, teach them at all cost. Students
use it to connect and take the challenge to continue learning. By having virtual meets, posting
activities, passing assignments, making exams and taking an exam that’s how online class goes.
Reflect

OBSERVE

What common problem have I noticed during the face-to-face learning environment before?
The lack of technological instructional materials in the classroom is the most common problem
during face-to-face classes

Can I translate this problem into a question?

How can a teacher expand the use of technology inside the classroom as a instructional material?

REFLECT

How would I solve the problem?

I must extend the use of technology as instructional materials into the next level. Integrate
technology in the classroom is the best way to address the problem. As a future teacher, I should
require more technological support to my students.

Will it improve my teaching? _Yes_ How? By accessing technology or using digital resources
during my lectures to reinforce the visual aspect of materials means for teachers to support and
enhance learning, create opportunities to connect with students.

PLAN

What will I do to solve the problem? Describe briefly how you will do it.
It is quite to solve this problem since technology is limited but in order to expand its
integration so I will keep student to stay engage during discussions utilizing digital materials.
Students will work independently or collaboratively since technology engages more interactive
activities. Then I will see the learning styles and prepare and outline the lesson to be discuss.
Prepare students with life skills with the use of Microsoft Office and Google Drive for them
prepare their life beyond the classroom.
