Assignment: Application of Fundamental Mathematics in Real-World Context

Objective:

Your Group task is to create a video presentation demonstrating the application of the five assigned
topics from the course outline. Each topic should be explained clearly, with real-world example(s) that
showcase your understanding. This assignment is designed to assess your ability to apply mathematica l
concepts practically.

Instructions:

Video Presentation (5 Marks):

• Prepare a 10-20 minute video that visually demonstrates the application of the given topics
below for your respective groups. You may use real-world examples, diagrams, or digital tools to
support your explanation.
• Ensure the video is clear, well-organized, and easy to follow. You can use any presentation
format (e.g., whiteboard explanation, slides, animations, etc.).
• Each topic should be explained in detail focusing on its mathematical principles, real-life
relevance, and why you believe these applications are important in the real world.

Suggested Format:

• Introduction: Briefly state the topics you will cover along with which group member did what
topic.
• Body: For each topic, provide:
1. A short explanation of the concept.
2. A real-world example or problem.
3. A solution or application process.
• Conclusion: Summarize the importance of the topics discussed and how they might relate to
each other.

Mathematical Accuracy (3 Marks):

• Ensure that the mathematical principles behind each topic are correct and clearly
communicated.
• Use proper terminology, notation, and logical reasoning throughout the explanation.

Creativity and Clarity (2 Marks):

• Creativity in presentation is encouraged. Use visuals, practical examples, and storytelling to

make the explanation engaging.
• The video should be clear, with smooth transitions between topics and coherent explanations.
• Ensure good video quality (audio and visuals), but it doesn’t need to be professionally produced.
Submission Details:

Submit the video as an MP4 file.

Submission Period: [ 4th November, 2024 – 4th December, 2024 12:00 PM]

Total Marks: 10

Tips for Success:

• Plan your video before recording to ensure a smooth flow of information.

• Practice explaining the concepts to make your presentation natural and confident.
• Use simple and relatable examples to connect the mathematical concepts to everyday life.

Good luck, and I look forward to your creative presentations!
