Preparation Before Departure
Passport Confirmation
It is recommended to have at least 6 months of validity left on the passport at the
time of boarding. It is customer responsibility to check if Visas, vaccinations, and
other travel requirements are required, for further information is recommended to ask
your travel agent.
Overseas Travel Accident Insurance
It is recommended to purchase a travel accident insurance when cruising.

Onboard currency is USD Dollar, your cruise card can be used for all purchases and cash can be
deposited on your cruise card as well as your credit card that can be registered to your account.

About Boarding
Luggage Deposit
Please attach the luggage tag found with your cruise ticket to you checked
luggage and leave it at the drop luggage area inside the terminal. Your luggage
will be delivered directly to your cabin.
Boarding Procedures
Please check the check-in time written on your boarding ticket before coming
to the terminal. The check-in counter closes approximately 3 hours before the
departure time. The time may change due to circumstances of the port
authority of the port of call. Please follow the instructions of the local staff for
boarding procedures.

Depending on the route, you may be asked to leave your passport at the
check-in so that immigration procedures can be smoothly completed.

The Cruise card serves as the following purposes:
1. Cabin Guest Room key.
2. Identification Card when boarding and leaving the
ship.
3. Shopping onboard and paying for paid services.

the staff when boarding the ship
Usually before boarding you will need to pass through a custom inspection.
For security reasons, passengers and luggage will be subject to security
checks. Items that are deemed to pose danger to passengers will be kept
safe for the duration of the cruise. Once onboard, please refer to the all
onboard time when leaving the ship, details for each port are listed in the
ship’s daily program activities paper and at the gangways.
Boarding Procedures
Settlement of onboard payment
Credit Card
Please complete your credit card registration by 11pm
the day after boarding. A credit card pin code is required
for registration. Payment can be made onboard by
presenting your cruise card.
All major credit card companies are accepted.
Registration may not be possible due to
communication issues, etc. We recommend
that you have at least two types of cards from
different card providers.
Cash
If you wish to pay in cash, a deposit is requited, in that
case a credit card registration will not be necessary. A
minimum amount is requested for the deposit.
In case a credit card is registered and cash payment is
preferred, is recommended to directly process the
payment at the front desk before the end of the cruise
so that the credit card is not charged. Reimbursement
take time and are hard to process during the cruise.
Evacuation Drill
After boarding the ship, an evacuation drill will be
conducted in accordance with SOLAS (International
Convention on Safety at Sea, Safety of Life and Sea)
regulations. Once on board, please read the “Emergency
Information” located inside the cabin door.
In case of emergency, when you hear the emergency
signal (Seven short blasts followed by one long blast)
grab your cabin provided life jacket and immediately
proceed to your designated emergency station.

The ship’s newspaper, which is distributed to your cabin every
night, it’ packed with information you don’t want to miss,
including the next day’s schedule. Here, we introduce the
contents of the English version. If you read it, you will be able to

The schedule is full of activities and
events, including dance lessons, craft
classes and bingo tournaments. It helps
you decide how to spend your day.

Clothing
During the day and during the shore excursions there are no specific dress codes. It is good idea to
bring a jacket in case of temperature changes, don’t forget your hat and sunglasses. During the
evening theme nights take place across the ship and are announced on the ship’s newspaper.
There are normally 1 or 2 Formal Nights (Gala) for each cruise, with dedicated menu at the dining
rooms, normally dining venues do not have a specific dress code but swimsuits, flip flops and
similar may not be allowed.

Meals Onboard
Dinner at the main dining rooms is available on different seatings. Dinner times are
confirmed at the time of boarding and are written on your cruise card. Restaurant
business hours are subject to change so please check the onboard newspaper.
Special Meal Request
If you would like to request a special meal to accommodate your health or religious
beliefs, please provide details when booking your cruise. Also, please provide your details
to the restaurant staff when boarding the ship or when eating. We will do our best to
accommodate your request, but please note that depending on the situation, we may not
be able to accommodate your request.
Payment for food and drink
Food, drinks, and service charges not included in the cruise price will be settled on the
last day of the cruise. A 15% bar service charge will be added to your bill, so there is no
need to tip at bars and restaurants.
Drink Package
For drinks, we recommend pre-ordering a drink package. Enjoy great deals on
a variety of drinks including wine, beer, mineral water and soft drinks. Please
contact the travel agency you made your reservation with.
Room Service
Continental Breakfast – Please order using the designated form the night
before (charges apply in Bella category). Food/Drinks: Light snacks such as
sandwiches and salads are available for a fee.
Minibar/snacks: Please check the price list in your cabin for prices.
Onboard the ship
Cleaning the Cabin
Cabins are cleaned twice a day. In addition, blankets, pillows, towels, etc. can
be exchanged free of charge 24 hours a day.
In-cabin amenities
Bath towels, hand towels, hair dryer, shampoo, body soap, shower cap, hand
soap, and sewing set are provided.
Hotel Service Charge
MSC Cruises has established hotel service charge in order to provide our guest
with the highest quality of service. The amount of Far East Cruises is set at 16
$ per person per night and will be added to your onboard account on the last
day of your cruise. Charge is not applied to Child under 2 years of age.
Valuables
Every cabin on all MSC Cruises ships is equipped with a safety deposit box. We
recommend storing cash, jewelry, and other valuables in a safe.
Please note that MSC Cruises cannot be held responsible for any lost items.
Visitors
For security reasons, no visitors are allowed onboard.
Voltage
Power on all MSC Cruises ships is . You can use Japanese
electrical appliances as they are. No electrical appliances that produce heat
may be used, except for the hair dryer provided in the cabin.
Onboard the ship
Cleaning Service
Cleaning Services (charges apply) are available onboard, so please ask the
cabin staff. Laundry bags and price list are available in the cabin.
Internet Onboard Connection
Each cabin is equipped with a telephone, allowing you to contact people inside and
outside the ship. Contact with outside parties uses satellite lines, so it may be
difficult to connect. When contacting the ship from land, the telephone/fax number
must include the sea area number. For more information, please enquire at the
Guest Services Desk.
Purchased Alcohol
Alcoholic beverages purchased at duty -free shops and ports of call will be kept
until disembarkation and will be delivered to the cabin the day before
disembarkation or collected at reception.
